As for Capcom in general, they sucked from 2009 through 2016, though there's a few gems, that period in general was mostly an awful time for Japanese developers and publishers, if I seem a little too quick to defend Capcom it's because my favorite publisher, Konami, fucked off entirely from releasing new games, I'm just happy to have my second favorite publisher, Capcom, be doing good for the last 5 years and I hate to think of them falling flat on their faces again.

Why Capcom is such an obsession for me is they were absolutely on fire from 2001 through 2006, first game of theirs I played was Devil May Cry, in 2005 I bought an art book of concept and character art from them, first time I really had a major behind the scenes look at any developer and Haunting Ground and Dead Rising are up there among my all time favorite games, especially Dead Rising.

They were just a cool fucking company, it was sad to see them decline, it was awesome to see them have a comeback, I can understand why people are starting to get worried at the moment, but I think people should stay on the optimistic side.

I don't feel it's appropriate to power level about what exactly has been going on in my life, but it's been a rough week, I was in a particular foul mood that day after a nightmarish weekend, but if I'm in as bad a mood I simply won't post at all and embarrass myself again.

You guys are right to give your 'ol Dom a hard time sometimes, but I feel like some of you are a little too hard on me sometimes.

Am I a bit of a retard? Sure, but I try to not be too retarded.


I agree the series has never been as good since the jump to 3D, Capcom should have stuck with pixel art 2D out of tradition, I still remember the excitement I felt when I heard they were making a Street Fighter 4 and the disappointment I felt when I learned it would be 3D.

I agree with you on some things Dom and others I don't agree with much (like nostalgia deciding whether something is good and that whole Minecraft fiasco), but this really isn't a right or left thing as far as I can tell. I mean yeah there's a horseshoe problem that goes on where both sides of the political extremes get triggered by too much skin in video games or too much violence in video games, but in this case its more that people are upset with Crapcom's shady business practices and mediocre gameplay and believe that nostalgic characters and optional fanservice doesn't really warrant defending all the godawful shit they're doing to make money by taking advantage of a once beloved IP by whoring it out.

Fanservice is nice and all and censoring it needlessly is pretty stupid (much like blaming violence on video games) especially in this day and age, but if the developers are being disingenuous shits while doing it then its just not worth defending since they'll just use it to take advantage of your loyalty.

1655514352413.pngIts like if Capcom (or any major company for that matter) can release a big pile of crap and sell it as a product and it makes money simply because of brand recognition and that they put a nice pair of sunglasses on it then they'll just keep releasing more crap with sunglasses on it that might even smell worse because they know they don't need to put effort into the product, and most non-consoomers won't even want to use the sunglasses because it was on a smelly and diseased pile of crap, and for that they might as well just buy a cheaper but almost as nice pair of sunglasses elsewhere from a smaller brand that won't have crap on it that even comes with a better product.

You literally couldn't be more wrong, T&A was never obligatory like modern diversity is, the only games that had it were games where it fit the tone, any games where it wouldn't have fit the tone, like Half-Life 2 or Last of Us 1, it didn't have it, many games didn't have it back in the day.

That's the polar opposite of today's climate where it's literally obligatory that you have X amount of diversity regardless of context, historical context or tone (like the Kingdom Come debacle) and you can never, ever have any blatant sexual content that would appeal to a heterosexual male, male heterosexuality is now as taboo as homosexuality used to be, it's treated as if it basically doesn't exist.

The only western devs and publishers that still have the balls to put a little T&A in games are European, in the US there's immense social pressure to have none of it even though that's literally a violation of our rights in this country, I couldn't name you a single game developed in the US since 2015/2016 to have a sexy woman in it (except for Overwatch 2 I guess maybe?), its ALL been toned down.

If these "polygons" really bother you, why? Are you gay? Here's a fun fact for you, art like drawings, statues, paintings, animation and yes, even video games can *gasp* depict beautiful, sexy women!

You raise a good point but nowhere did I say the game is worth buying solely for the fanservice, nowhere did I say it couldn't be a disappointment after all, all I said was in my opinion going from what we have seen I think the game looks cool and I made a few mentions of Cammy's ass and some people lost their fucking minds.

There is an issue on KF where sometimes a thread is an echo chamber with some designated "THIS THING IS BAD" topic and going against the grain gets you dogpiled, it's stupid, it really is similar to Woke NPC "ORANGE MAN BAD" type behavior and the interwebs didn't used to be like this.

There's shifting alliances when it comes to what the right and left support that sometimes make no sense, right now it's "SEXY BAD" on the right because I guess the left threw their support behind OnlyFans? Which itself made no sense after the left pissed and moaned about sexy women in media and then turned around and said it's stunning and brave to put pics of your butthole online, but now the right is getting sand in their vagina over any appreciation of anything sexy at all even though once upon a time everyone on the right side agreed Sarkeesian style pearl clutching was dumb.

Now any mention of anything sexual at all gets you branded a "coomer" as if it's not normal for people to have a normal sex drive and any mention of anything sexual ever means you're someone that does nothing but jerk off to porn all day?

I agree obviously porn addition is a thing and can be bad, I agree that sex, like any topic, can be layed on too thick by people, but this idea that we should never mention it all? Fuck that.

There is a wider phenomena today beyond right and left where everyone now always goes to the extreme conclusion, always brands you as an extreme stereotype, there's very little nuance on anything now and it's getting less by the day, it's dumb.

Anybody who likes fake TnA are highly problematic and thus should commit sudoku to prevent any future conflict from arising. It's all a stepping stone from shoving a bottle up your ass and then destabilizing the region afterwards
 
@Dom Cruise you've contrived the notion that covering up a phat ass in a fighting game is equivalent to the abolishment of not only sexual liberation in youth (which is a good thing), but sexuality at all in the bigger picture which is patently convoluted and untrue. You're being the same thing as first wave SJWs screeching about how much female characters "appeal to the male fantasy" but with the inverse.
