While I do see both sides of the dub vs sub argument I'm also of the opinion that a lot of the people who can't stop seeing voice actors as extensions of the characters they play are those who tend to watch dubs. The only time it remotely applies to the Japanese seiyuu are the creepy otaku who live within Japan.

Sub watchers by and large from what I've noticed usually separate the art from the artist. I guess having a language barrier helps in that regard.

I embrace the reality that more leftoids are in entertainment media than rightoids. You need to be truly obnoxious, for me to wash my hands of a project because of your actions.

Completely understandable. Though I do feel bad for those on the right who blacklisted or screwed over on opportunities in the industry because of their political beliefs.

Tucker Carlson can only get ads from Doomsday Prepper companies (for example) how is that going to effect what he talks about?

Well, the convention owners are not so cocky now. They are going through financial dire straits due to COVID and are struggling so much they even failed to get a 2021 con off the ground. The economic downturn of this year only exacerbates the problem.

As a last minute resort, this pathetic excuse of a con is now resorting to e-begging to stay in business. They need $60,000 in their fundraiser or else they won’t have a con this July. And if they can’t reach $100,000 by the end of this year, Tekko is dead in the water.

I say let it die.

These people deserve all the mockery they get for their shenanigans and reading through this hilarious sob story only reinforces that. I would personally pay money just to see them go under. My favorite part of reading through this is the part where they explain the refund situation.

“Good faith letter”, because God forbid cons know how to run a business and have heard of this thing called “policy”.

Enjoy the pity-party statement below for laughs.

Edit: I remember PensaCon going after Vic's supporters ... I don't think Tekko said much of anything.

If they openly ridiculed him because they stopped inviting them then they reap what they sow and the deserve whatever they get.

Actually, I don't. The last time TekkoCon was talked about in this subforum was when Jennifer Lynn Hunt went after Peter Gaudoin, TekkoCon's CEO.
Not sure if Gaudoin is still the CEO, though.
I know the previous owner and CEO of the defunct Tekkoshocon, Inc., Jim Gogal, is a bitter faggot and resents Gaudoin & the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society (current owners).
Gogal was the one feeding Manjaw ammunition against Gaudoin & the PJCS.
Point being that I don't remember Gaudoin making any statements ridiculing Vic.
Gogal, on the other hand, used Manjaw as his mouthpiece and cudgel regarding alleged incidents with Vic.

Upon looking at this, it turns out I was wrong, so I'm the one who deserves the mockery. 😑

As @5t3n0g0ph3r pointed out, it wasn't the current owners of TekkoCon but rather former owner Gogal, with Manjaw acting as some sort of mouthpiece. But even though they made no public statement about Vic, they didn't bring him back, so they were clearly not in favor of inviting him.

To make up for me being a dumbass, here was actually went down, according to tweets from PerceptionCheck on YellowFlash's thread.

Didn't Vic say in his affidavit (which as we all know is EVIDENCE) that 60K is what he used to make for a lot of cons? Sounds like Tekko might want to give someone a call and an apology...
