I probably shouldn't admit this, but: this. Yes. Precisely this.you could get around it by citing the sources wikipedia uses in their source section. don't be a retard and put wikipedia in the sources cited section of your paper.
I've done it more times than I can count; check Wikipedia for a general outline, but follow the links and citations and cite THOSE instead.
Assuming the Wikipedia editor wasn't full of shit or misreading/misunderstanding the source, there really isn't much of an issue, even for an academic paper; the problem is, the Wiki editors often ARE misreading the sources, and/or the sources are themselves garbage.(like the Byuu-Bilorv ouroboros cited above, where the source cited by Wikipedia uses Wikipedia as its own source)
