Let me try to explain why I'm so hung up on this issue.
I was a big gamer throughout the 2000s, I remember the controversy over GTA, I remember how literally every single person that touched a video game controller agreed Jack Thompson was a piece of shit using controversy as a way to gain clout and money, I remember everyone being anti-censorship and pro developers making whatever game they wanted.
I remember how circa 2009, some people would laugh at T&A in games as kind of silly, but nobody got genuinely OFFENDED over it, people would have looked at you like a crazy person if you started demanding that stuff be censored and would have rightfully compared you to Jack Thompson, people would have said "what's the big fucking deal?"
Then, just a few years later, in 2012 along comes Anita Sarkeesian and her demands for censorship and all of a sudden even though she's literally just Jack Thompson with hoop ear rings and lipstick, suddenly we see many gamers taking her side, taking the attitude of "censorship is good actually!" and shouting down any criticism of her, no matter how fair and respectful, as simply sexism or misogyny.
Even though we tried to argue that censorship of any kind, be it sex or violence, no matter who was calling for it, would lead to a chilling effect on creativity in the game industry, which is literally what happened, all anyone was saying is that devs should be free to make whatever kind of game they wanted, if they wanted T&A, they should be allowed to do it, if that's not what they wanted, that's fine, but now there's immense social pressure to never have it.
And it isn't just over a female character's body, it's how they are written, now under Woke feminism they can only be bland and lack the depth male characters are still allowed, I said before if things could have at least stayed at 2013 levels I could have lived with it, but people got their asses chapped over Lara Croft being in peril in the 2013 Tomb Raider game, I knew their complaints would never end, there would be literally no pleasing SJWs and shit would only get worse and worse unless people loud and clearly told them to fuck off and sadly exactly what I feared would happen, happened.
I will never not call out what happened with that shift in gaming culture as bullshit, complete fucking bullshit on every level, Woke/SJWs are completely full of shit.
Bullshit is bullshit and that was some serious bullshit.
