I switch over to F1TV for two fucking races of peace and I still end up with Crofty drooling over BBC.
We live in a society.
Unfortunately, this also makes for Sainz' 31st race without a pole. Making him, according to /sp/ at least, the Ferrari driver to go the longest without a win. Whether that's true or not, I really don't know if there's a driver I've so rapidly jumped between disliking, to liking, to hating so quickly in recent years.

Definitely a sore spot for me. I got pissy after the first couple of overtakes on Mick, but when he dropped to the bottom I knew something was up. Despite the utter lack of focus from any coverage, KMAG still managed a good drive. Despite Mick being in hot water, I really can't see anyone blaming him for this one at all. He had a fantastic qualifying, but the car just failed him.
That came after the softest touch possible on Team Radio though. Compare what Carloss got compared to him. Merc is well aware they have to stroke his ego, and stroke it hard, even when the results aren't there. Naturally, Bloois would say this is pure skill, considering all his complaints about the car before this. (And, notably, the bouncing noises seemed just as awful as before.)
I think this race had a good start, but obviously petered out a bit by the end. I think, with the quali lineup, this was natural, but it didn't really come in too good a way. If I was to take something really positive from it, it's that both of the Ferraris survived a really solid period of hard driving, it's just a shame that Sainz really doesn't have the pace to manage to manage a win, at least compared to AMX. Like it or not, the man's a seriously talented racing driver, and he shows it regularly.

Also what's funny: Merc crew to Lewis "we were the fastest" After Safety car start Verstappen and Sainz go "bye bye" despite battling like crazy. I think Silverstone will be interesting as we get the "Porpoising penalties" there. Thoguh from what I understand is that Silverstone is a rather smooth track so we might not get much bouncing

I can't wait for silverstone to see all the trash fans dealing with bloosis having a shit car and verstappen flexing allover the place. British sports supporters are the trashiest of the trashy so it will be great to watch them get thir dumb little hearts broken.

They almost missed the start of the race! The camera was idling its way through the stationary midfield, then suddenly it jumped to the head of the grid the split second after the lights went out.

Vettel no punishment for falling back behind the safety car. Alonso drops behind Bottas and Zhou with a 5 second penalty,Tsunoda fined for speeding in the pit lane, and Norris given a 5 sec penalty for speeding in the pit lane.

Why didn’t Hamilton get a penalty for running Magnussen off track and breaking his front wing? That was far more serious than weaving or speeding in the pit lane by 2.4 or 5 kph.

Vettel's contract is up at the conclusion of 2022. Given his recent sponsor-baiting activities (organising races for women in hard-line Muslim countries, his ongoing eco-crusade) I assume that he is laying the foundation for the second act of his life as some kind of humanitarian ambassador.
I can't get too mad at him. I find his activism more tolerable than Hamilton's corporation-friendly blend of coercion and handwaving. Go forth into the world with my blessing, Sebastian. Save the motherfucking turtles if you can.

Yeah, at least Seb is putting his money and time where his mouth is. He's doing events at schools, organising events, doing litter picking and using public ransport (debatable how much that is "for the cameras"). He even admits to being a hypocrit where hambone would have jumped right to racebaiting.
I don't agree with his stance on a lot of issues but at least he's doing something to further them and responding to fair criticism.
As you say Hambone's crowing is the standard corporate stance these days and anyone daring to critique his position will be met by chimping that he probably sent their way via social media.
