Yeah I think we can safely say she is provably guilty of neglect based on Archie being allowed seemingly unsupervised internet access at 10 goddamn years old. That kinda shit never ends well, see also Jessie Slaughter (whose parents eventually lost custody iirc).

Poor kid probably was in a toxic situation all around. Any caps of comments/gossip from locals should be posted and archived here I feel like, since there might be some important info there.

If Archie's body is somehow not in the ground within the next couple weeks I feel like Hollie might need her own thread. The fact that Archie's body seems to be deteriorating much faster than Jahi's is the only reason I think her staying as part of this one is fine (hollie probably will be only producing noteworthy content for a short period of time).

Were there any recent photographs of Archie with his father? It's not really relevant to Archie's current situation (pre-hanging, that is) if he was close to his father as a toddler. For all we know, Paul Battersbee could have been a deadbeat dad who wasn't actively involved in his son's life. He hasn't made any independent statements that I'm aware of. He's a side characters in Hollie's "campaign" at best.

What struck me as bizarre, or even sinister, is that Hollie seems to have pigged out a lot during the pandemic, whilst Archie looked like he barely had an excess gram of fat on him. Did she punish him by withholding food? So many questions.

I had a bit of a look into the dads profile. Facebook rumours range from Hollie having a restraining order to him being an involved parent.

Strikes me as transference. She's past the point of being willing or capable of maintaining an attention-getting physique, just as it was becoming an option for her son who had an abundance of energy. A fine time for them to be in isolation together!

I promise I'm not trying to lead a witch hunt to paint Hollie as an abusive mother. I think the evidence is there if you know what to look for. Not going to PL but I have personal and professional experience in generational trauma support, and that's what's informing the red flags I've seen from the beginning. The father's absence from the circus is another one, as others here have rightly pointed out. I just feel really bad about this one because with the right early intervention Archie could have still gone on to thrive in spite of his circumstances, and instead this is how his life turned out. I'll take my rainbows and puzzle pieces.

I honestly wouldn’t worry too much about this bit. Active kids in his age range aren’t going to put on much weight. Kids really have to overeat to get fat since they keep using the calories to grow up, not out.

Could also be that, even if she was overeating, she knew enough not to put that on her kid, so kept the junk away from him.

There’s lots of weirdness to go around here, but I don’t think think starvation is part of it.

Edit: it’s difficult for kids to get fat, not put on weight. Kids are always gaining weight, it’s normal for them. Even a bit of extra fat tends to get eaten away by growth unless something is up.

If he had been pubescent, I would agree; however, he's small for his age and the level of body fat on him in that infamous flexing pic was definitely abnormal for a prepubescent boy. To get that level of ripped he'd have to have both low fat and low fluid percentages in his system.

Having such prominent muscles, especially at that young of an age, would mean having to have a notably low body fat percentage. Something important to note: Ritalin and Adderall burn calories faster and make you lose your appetite. This might be why Hollie convinced doctors that he had severe ADHD.

Tiktok isn't like our oldfag apps where you interact with people you know or friends of friends. It throws random people's content up and encourages interaction with it. In fact Archie had joined several Tiktok "cults" in an attempt to build a following, these are just trends where you change your avatar and everyone with that avatar follows everyone else so you boost your engagement. He actively invited strangers to interact in his naivety.

Fucking tiktok is the one app I feel like screaming at other parents for letting their kids loose on. What starts as wanting to learn a cute dance can spiral with that toxic algorithm and its nonce central.

Hollie was on BBC Breakfast this morning and the host once again trotted out the "online challenge" theory and they showed some clips of boxers, mma fighters etc urging Archie to get better. Hollie said something like Archie "needs to put the work in to get better for me". Like...what? They also had a legal expert come on and basically say that it's unlikely that the judge will allow the appeal to proceed.

I think the only time I've seen a proper "blackout challenge" has to have been like 6 years ago on Music.ly, not Tiktok. You didn't do it yourself though. Your friend would just push on your chest until you pass out. Wasn't extremely popular like shit like the cinnamon challenge or salt and ice challenge, but was still just as retarded as the rest. Though nothing near that extreme has come back since then.
