Yesterday FallenShadow had a special ASMR stream to raise money for her cat who was going to need surgery. Cat did not survive the surgery. She can't afford a Sana like grieving period as her finances are not nearly as strong. Shadow has cut streams short before due to anxiety so curious how her return streams goes.

Friendly reminder that one of Fauna’s cats is also ancient and it will be inevitable leave soon.

I've been worried about that since she debuted and started mentioning Clover is like 20+. That's extremely old and from sound of it, he already had mobility issues. I'm dreading the day and it's not even my fucking cat.
I presume that she's well-prepared at this point, it's not going to come as a shock.

Not gonna lie, I was interested in giving it a go (managed to learn English somehow, and a third language would always be helpful), but after this post I don't really know if I wanna do it. Even the kanas have been a colossal struggle, so if this is how far it goes, I don't know if I'd actually be cut out for this. It doesn't help that trying to find resources has been a mess in itself. Everyone says that textbooks only really teach you a strict formal format that sometimes isn't even used in casual conversations, and that apps do the same but for babies. If you ask those same linguists what they'd recommend though, they just shill their own courses, and a lot of the time the websites look the same as those scam e-books you'd get in popups.
For what it's worth I disagree with most of what Contracted Weeb said (which doesn't mean they're wrong, just that there are different ways of approaching things). I've lived here nearly 3 years, I read books sometimes, I still have to look up katakana half the time, and I never learnt which reading is on or kun - you'll learn them as you use them. Grammar is something you do need to deliberately study but only when it becomes a limiting factor - if you know all the nouns you need for a given sentence but not the right grammar then you can probably make yourself understood, whereas if you know perfect grammar but none of the vocabulary then you're SOL. And I would definitely learn listening, speaking, and reading together because they reinforce each other.
They're right about making sure you learn from actual native speakers though, and about making sure you have actual goals. If you're not getting anything concrete out of your language learning then it's hard to stay motivated. If what you want is e.g. to understand your oshi's zatsudans better then doing that will keep you on track even if it's "less efficient" in some objective sense.
Coming here for language school isn't worth it IMO - the most important part of my learning is the professional lessons, but they've been over zoom since the pandemic, and that's something you can (and should, if you can afford it) do from anywhere.

Gura streaming birthday countdown with call ins under an hour from now.
Wonder what the fans did for her this year.
Giant collective chum jar like the absolute degens they are :smug:
What the fuck is a v tuber?
A man who uses a voice changer to pretend to be an underage woman and bait pedophiles into throwing money at him and a Japanese conspiracy to destroy western civilization as revenge for getting nuked twice.

It's gay, autistic men who live in their basements and use voice changers to pretend they're anime girls.
Also, women who use voice changers to act as men, so that Japan can take advantage of the chinese schizo fujidoshi and drain China of all their money.
