Feels like FNDM gets angry over the most inane shit.
Once saw a guy claim that Hbomberguh had only watched the first 3 volumes of the show before shitting on it, even when the things he rips ’got fixed later.’
Ignoring how Harris clearly did watch post-Beacon volumes and displays clear knowledge of it (making fun of how poorly defined ‘magic’ is in the show) and the idea that taking 3 seasons to ‘get good’ isn’t still a strike against the overall product, he had Tantacrul, his music composer for the video, watch 7 volumes of the show. The guy even made his own video about the show and how he made Hbomb’s parody music.
Regardless of what you thought about HBomberguy’s video, or HBomberguy as a person, loads of people in FNDM are just comically incompetent at criticizing his video.

Harris's critiques can generally be relied on to at least be thought out and well reasoned as long as he doesn't have a personal bias on the topic. His critique is relatively ok throughout the video (with the exception that he, like alot of people, really ride Monty's dick a little too hard, yeah, Miles and Karry are bad writers, but Monty was a glorified but talented self-taught animator/choreographer) but then goes into poop eating mode when he struggles to reconcile with the fact that people can pursue seemingly laudable goals while being flawed and even bad people. Granted Harris might be in the Magneto was right camp, and might just have a problem with the White Fang being portrayed as the bad guys

Harris's criticisms also fall heavily into a "Rules for thee not for me" territory when it comes to double standards. His Fallout 3 and New Vegas videos show that he has a giant bias boner and if something he likes does a thing he previously railed, he'll praise it without a hint of irony (e.g. he praised that you can Speech 100 Lanius at the end of New Vegas but condemned that you can do the same thing to Autumn at the end of FO3).

This is just a problem with how the White Fang subplot in general was handled, it’s not hard to see Harris’ point. For a plot that wants to be about racism, having the only people that are actively doing anything about it be comically evil shithead incels… isn’t a very good look. The show tried to retroactively fix it with the introduction of Sienna to go, “Oh, they were right, but then Incel Adam hijacked the whole thing for his own gain!” The problem of systemic racism is never the focus, it’s just that the White Fang are handling it ‘incorrectly’ and Blake hasn’t done anything about racism ever since.
Problem is Sienna doesn’t change anything. She has so little role in the show and Adam’s role is still exactly the same prior to Sienna’s introduction. We all assumed that Adam was the de facto leader of the White Fang. Now… Adam’s still the leader of the White Fang, it’s just now ’really’ been established, and the WF are still comically evil shitheads. Sienna could be axed and nothing changes, she’s a nothing character who exists to try and damage control how badly CRWBY handled the whole thing.

By the same token we really don't see much to support the institutional racism against the faunus either. There's a handful of characters who are racist (actually speciest but I digress) assholes to the faunus but those characters are people like Cardin and Roman who are assholes in general. There's no overt Faunus Crow laws that we can see, at least not that I can remember. And sure Menagerie is suppossd to be this inhospitable hell island that was given to the faunus as a token to shut them the fuck up but Menagerie honestly seems more like Hawaii than it does like the Antipodes and life there doesn't seem too hard, plus the fact that there's a passenger ferry that seems to regularly travel between the island and the mainland makes it seem like there aren't any strict immigration/travel restrictions to keep the fur niggers out.

The White Fang story fails from both ends to paint the picture of a group of plucky rebel freedom fighters going against a corrupt system but it ironically paints a very accurate picture of how organizations such as the SPLC and the ADL actually work, so there's that at least.

And then you got people who’ll go to bat for the WF because one of the members is gay and because they fight for a “noble cause”. Do I really need to bring up UOW’s WF video?
