The right lost the cultural fight in terms of religion especially in culture. Pandora's box has already been opened, and you will find even most centrists will balk at the idea of religion being taught in schools. I recognize that there's still a lot of them, but the ultimate loss of The Religious Right / Moral Majority (tm) was when national leadership demanded nobody vote for Trump in 2016 because, seriously, he was Trump. And it was the biggest win the GOP had in ages.
There's still a lot of room to rally the grassroots and maybe somebody can become something big but the old gatekeepers went nuclear and their fat man was just a scud.

Here's the thing about the Religious Right. These days everyone is pointing out how "They predicted everything! The drag kids, the anal sex lessons in schools, the pedo cults, they foretold it all!" And they were right about all those things. But the other 95% of what they said was pants on head retarded. Back then the child drag and pedo stuff was so far-fetched they didn't even devote that much time to it.
They were much more interested in claiming that Teletubbies, Harry Potter and Pokemon were devil worship. And if you paid close attention to what they said and what they did, they weren't actually interested in changing anything, just using pop culture as a springboard to run grifts. Their first priority was scamming money from little old ladies, antagonizing the left was just an act. Their platform was all performative, much like today's RINOs they weren't taking serious action to impose their values on society.
They were allies to the Finders as much as the FBI because for every real issue they pointed out, they spent much longer freaking out over asinine crap and making sure no one would take anything they said seriously. They were only correct about anything by accident, and they're a model for everything the modern right needs to avoid becoming.

I'm far behind in this thread so I don't know if it's been explained super clearly but here's a way to look at it.
You sell bread. Your supplier charges you $1 a loaf so you charge $2 a loaf to your customers.
Your supplier raises his price, so you raise your price so you continue to make your profit.
He charges $2 a loaf so now you raise your price to $3 a loaf.
He raises it to $5 a loaf because of inflation, so you raise yours to $6 a loaf, and so on.
This goes on until your supplier is charging $9 a loaf so you're now charging $10 a loaf. All your customers are freaking out about the price of bread and threatening to revolt.
Now Pedo Joe Biden steps in and his solution is to announce to you, "I decree you can not charge more than $10 a loaf. This is your price ceiling. If you charge more than $10 a loaf, I will have you arrested"
The problem is your supplier keeps raising his price. Now your supplier raises his price to $10 a loaf but you can't raise your price to $11. So now you're making nothing. Then your supplier raises his price to $11 a loaf and you still are forbidden to raise your price to keep making a profit. And on top of it, now you're losing $1 for every loaf. And it will only get worse as your supplier raises his price.
So now you have two options, keep selling bread at a higher and higher loss to your business until you eventually go bankrupt. Or cease to sell bread altogether and tell the government to fuck off with their price ceiling. Now there is no one selling bread in your area. Another problem is that bread stores in the surrounding areas are also going through what you are and also choose to tell the government to fuck off and cease selling bread.
Now you have a bread shortage in your city because no one is selling bread because the price ceiling is forcing them to lose money on every sale.
