Of course the whole point is to make it so people can’t refer to the material reality of the situation. Just as with Tony’s attempted policing of “AMAB/AFAB” and “biological women”, treating previous names as “deadnames”, and troons hiding or reinventing their personal histories. *Tony’s insistence that name changes be hidden is part of this too. Clearly we need to be able to trace people’s past for various good social reasons, but that gets in the way of their need to distort reality.
