So then the administration goes after the shippers (except for the ones their friends own).

Once they stop hauling, they blame the farmers/ranchers.

Except riding fuel, fertilizer, seed, and costs of living make it so they had to charge more.

So the Administration goes after them.

Then blames the inflation across the board on the consumers being lazy and entitled.

I went to the most conservative church in a conservative protestant area where that church literally ran the schools and the worst that actually happened was an offhand comment from the preacher on Pokémon teaching evolution, one sermon on Harry Potter (which was walked back after his grandson told him about the books) and Pokémon cards getting banned at school mostly over parents getting pissed over their kids losing them.

Throwing rocks at random pop culture properties is a waste of time. It just makes you look dumb. Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals describes strategies for baiting your enemies into picking fights that make them look ridiculous. You have to show people something they'll want to rally behind, give them a vision of how things can be better. This is also a problem for the current right; the left is giving them lots of easy targets to attack but they have to go beyond that and show them something worth fighting for. The right is in a better position to win adherents today than Jerry Falwell was back then, though, because rampant groomers in the schools is a much more real, tangible threat than a purple Teletubby.

Has anyone talked about the new platform the Texas GOP has adopted? I haven't actually formed an opinion but they've openly declared they want to repeal the 1965 Voting Rights Act so that's an automatic "yup based" from me.

Some other notable additions to the party platform:

• “We reject the certified results of the 2020 Presidential election, and we hold that acting President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States,”
• Floats the concept of a state electoral college
• Refers to homosexuality as "an abnormal life choice"
• Explicitly states Texas retains the right to secede from the U.S.
• Calls for the abolishment of Department of Education, Federal Reserve, a bunch of other federal bodies
• Advocates returning prayer and the Bible to schools and government buildings
• Official opposition to mass lockdowns and contact tracing

There's a ton of shit in it. MSM is freaking out and the length of this Twitter thread where a tranny freaks out about it says alot about how well they're taking it.

There is no conflict with building bike trails and pedestrian bridges and even rail lines, provided that they don't try to socially engineer people out of cars and make drivers subsidize other methods like other states like California do.

I'm far behind in this thread so I don't know if it's been explained super clearly but here's a way to look at it.
You sell bread. Your supplier charges you $1 a loaf so you charge $2 a loaf to your customers.
Your supplier raises his price, so you raise your price so you continue to make your profit.
He charges $2 a loaf so now you raise your price to $3 a loaf.
He raises it to $5 a loaf because of inflation, so you raise yours to $6 a loaf, and so on.

This goes on until your supplier is charging $9 a loaf so you're now charging $10 a loaf. All your customers are freaking out about the price of bread and threatening to revolt.
Now Pedo Joe Biden steps in and his solution is to announce to you, "I decree you can not charge more than $10 a loaf. This is your price ceiling. If you charge more than $10 a loaf, I will have you arrested"
The problem is your supplier keeps raising his price. Now your supplier raises his price to $10 a loaf but you can't raise your price to $11. So now you're making nothing. Then your supplier raises his price to $11 a loaf and you still are forbidden to raise your price to keep making a profit. And on top of it, now you're losing $1 for every loaf. And it will only get worse as your supplier raises his price.

So now you have two options, keep selling bread at a higher and higher loss to your business until you eventually go bankrupt. Or cease to sell bread altogether and tell the government to fuck off with their price ceiling. Now there is no one selling bread in your area. Another problem is that bread stores in the surrounding areas are also going through what you are and also choose to tell the government to fuck off and cease selling bread.

Now you have a bread shortage in your city because no one is selling bread because the price ceiling is forcing them to lose money on every sale.

the final step is when the government opens their own bakery and the communist takeover is complete.
