If I remember correctly Superblindman had his retinas removed at a few months old due to cancer. If he can see at all it's probably so bad he's well deserving of being declared legally blind.

I give Superblindman some credit because first, he can genuinely play games as good as or better than DSP despite being blind, and second the kind of accessibility stuff he talked about when I first started following the DSP vortex was improved sound design and mixing for better sound cues, which is just genuinely good accessibility-wise or not. That said, his blind (not a pun) defense of DSP and paying him is so fucking dumb it wipes away any good will the soft dumb overly empathetic baby side of me has. Dudes hearing the snorts, belches, begging, and berating with his fucking Daredevil hearing and still sending the man money.

He may be unhappy, but the thing for people with narcissistic tendencies is that they lack empathy for others. Phil may be unhappy with his current situation, but he's probably not losing sleep over exploiting dentheads. He's probably losing sleep over the dearth of new dentheads.

I don’t think I’ve ever thought this about another human before (not even Wings) but I sincerely believe it.

80% of his time he seems to be angry or upset about something.
19% of his time he’s being deceitful or is putting some misleading plot together.

It all seems so exhausting. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him genuinely happy. I presume he is the 1% of his time he’s winning at WWE champions but that’s not something to live for.

Motherfucker says he works his own hours, then thanks God that his schedule changed because he "didn't get paid" today? And this all happened right before his big day off? How convenient...

This rant about no hyped games is insufferable. Of course, DSP is always insufferable but I think it's evidence he hates games and always has.

Firstly, suggesting there were no terrible AAA games in the 360/PS3 era is beyond idiotic. Then, saying the only games he's 'hyped' for these days are re-releases of old games, namely Sonic Origins is lunacy. Personally, I can name at least two dozen AA-AAA games releasing within the next year that I'm very excited about; 8 of which I will love whether I like them or not.

If the only games you're "hyped" for are trashy re-releases and remasters; you might not like gaming anymore if ever you did...

Don’t get MATI, remember this is a guy that hasn’t had a holiday (in the relaxing sense) in like 15 years, hasn’t hung out with friends in like 5 years and is married to a woman who tells him she can’t stand his voice.

Add in the crippling gambling addiction and you’ll likely agree he already is suffering.

This "youtoob hasn't given me money yet so you need to give me monies" shit is just pathetic. He gets paid by them 12 times a years, so if not being paid by them is a code red beg, then how does he cope the other 40 times a year he needs to "buy groceries", unless it's just a big overblowing of a fact to guilt money from the mentally handicapped.

But it's an extra layer of retarded (and calling it that is being generous) which is that he is self employed and his wife barely, if at all, works so he could easily move his "day off" to after he gets the money if he so desperately needed it (and that's a massive if).

It might be overly cynical but I wouldn't be surprised if he was paid by YT and is just using it to beg after multiple bad streams.

AVGN, a character. He's satire, he's not a real person played by James Rolfe did a video 12 years ago about Simon's Quest, which is where phil heard of the game regardless of his 45 min babble about his history with a part of a game series he didn't play.

Because the character, Angry Video Game Nerd did his AVGN schtick over Castlevania II, phil knows all about this game he didn't play so he's telling people about the mechanics of this game he didn't play but AVGN told him what to think as if this game is some small indie game that snuck out on early access not the second installment in a massively popular ip from 35 year ago.

sure why not.

Did we ever get a solid diagnostic? If we know what he has and that it 100% blinds him then I'll drop it but as it stands I just don't buy it. Why would a blind man go through all this trouble for Phil?
