it can actually be a result OF muscle memory- much like how it looks wonky when you draw blindfolded
when you lose passion for your work and start just repeating the motions, like repeating a word over and over, it starts to meld together. likewise when you dont learn from observing other media or real life, and are only inspired by your own old work, your work becomes incestious and slowly devolves into vague shapes and patterns instead of images, like the concept of a drawing instead of an actual drawing.
