That bill... does nothing. Anything objectionable looks like it got ripped out. Hell, I'd actually call it a narrow net good since it actually defines a lot of legal statuses which were kept as grey as possible by the FDA to allow them to act with impunity.

The only reason anybody acted like Russia was some kind of global superpower was to drive anti-Trump hysterics or gin up support for a Syria invasion. Everyone who knows shit from shoeshine knows that Russia's ability to project power far beyond its own borders is nil.

Gonna take slight exception to this, having fought the Cold War as an Anti-Submarirne Warfare dude in the Navy. The Russians USED TO be able to project. We'd follow their boomers after we picked 'em up on SOSUS transiting out of the Bering Sea into the Atlantic. Until they were sitting off the East Coast capable of launching a nuclear strike on any of several major cities, including DC. Not much we could do but fuck with them, letting them know death from above had them dialed in. And fuck with them we did. Dropping sounding charges, going to active ping on our sonobouys.. but we couldn't outright sink their shit, although it was well within our capabilities to do so.

What was the word of that era? Oh yeah, "detante."

They can't project like that today because their best shit rusted apart at homeport and isn't even worthy of making razor blades anymore.

But for a time in the late 70's and 80's, the projection and threat was very real. I lived that shit on a daily basis. No regrets.

Glowies are past restraint - either Trump picks him and has him as a Judas or they'll make sure Trump goes nowhere even after he gets reelected.

I've seen some online fundies agitating about how they won't vote for a gay Veep. I don't know how strong that opposition is if the alternative is four more years of Bidenesque rule. Sometimes you have to give a little to get ahead.

What does having a gay guy on the ticket do as far as turnout and vote percentages? I always figured running Pete for prez would lead to black male apathy for the dem ticket.

If Trump picks a homosexual VP will that hurt him?

My first thought is "Speculation based on what". I know Grenell is one of the few glowies... somewhat critical of the current glowie hell. So thats interesting... but I doubt it'd be a VP pick if Trump is considering him for something.

Tard wrangler seems more likely.

Addendum: Thinking about it, Trump is likely calling in the people who hadn't backstabbed him last time. Grenell was one of them.

Honestly... not that badly. Might depress certain hard religious voting groups but they have been a shrinking group for a while. The general attitudes towards gay people have trended towards simple apathy for a while. Nobody cares. So long as he can come out and say "This trannie shit is fucking insane" people will like him.

If anything he's Trumps glowie. DNI is supposed to watch all the other glowies and give the pres a daily briefing, but he was only DNI (acting) for less than six months. More interesting to me, he was Trumps special envoy to Kosovo/Serbia 2019-2021.

Pompeo(also a glowie) will be big mad if the VP bit is true. He will have lost a lot of weight for nothing.

And despite being the one that the uniparty would have leaned on the hardest to throw Trump buswards for Jan 6, he never did. So he is at the very least proven to be loyal.
