These days if you want Autistic Cycle Accuracy(tm) there are FPGA implementations that work pretty well. And include all the fancy "make it look like a CRT" stuff as well.I won't reiterate what most people know about the emulator and why it's a consideration, but frankly you can play basically anything on the SNES9x and it'll be absolutely fine. There's no reason for that emulator to exist beyond purists wanting cycle accuracy.
There was a high processor requirement for it comparative to other emulators, yes. It was not reasonable.
And it's sure smaller than having 37 different consoles.
