In my locale, a number of fast food joints have bumped their starting pay up to US $14 to $16 and hour in an attempt to get the additional staff they need and still can't get any takers even with the ongoing demands for a $15/hour starting wage.

While there's nothing inherently wrong with wanting retirees to be financially secure, the demand that people on social security receive $52k or more per year is lulzy and sounds exactly like something a NEET such as Polissa would say unironically.

From a more practical standpoint, Social Security can barely afford to pay the benefits it needs to now let alone $52k per person. So Polissa is optimistic AF with her pie in the sky wishes.

I was recommended an animal hoarder episode of Hoarders on YouTube. I apologize for the VPN less people region cucked from this vid, but since it's not as infamous as the Poop Lady I don't see this episode discussed often.

The woman in question is a cat hoarder that has completely given up on taking care of the cats. Neighbors down the street have complained of the smell. The house has been condemned because of how badly the cats destroyed the house.

I can't help but think of Polissa when I saw this again. Mrs Raccoon (I'm taking that @Bulk Shopping For Freedom) is next door so I'm sure she has to smell that shit 24/7. Especially if the litter boxes are not in different spots of the house but contained in one hot ass room like Polissa claims.

Considering how fucking awful working conditions are, however, both from management and the customers, I don't blame people for going "fuck this shit" en masse. A medieval peasant would coom at the thought of having the chance at their own property, or an actual wage, or government assistance like retirement or food stamps. Most American workers also don't work for the literal entire day in the outdoors. Polissa (as do most of us) would not last five hours as a medieval peasant. Growing vegetables can actually be fairly expensive in like, start up costs. You need to till the soil (usually with a rototiller uless you are either jacked to shit or have a small garden, then you can use a hoe) amend the soil with stuff like manure and compost. Buy seeds or starter plants. Most vegetables like tomatoes will require supplemental feeding so buy some plant food.

Growing vegetables as a cost saving measure is only worth it if you have a large garden, are very italian or grow like speciality squash and sell them for a buck a squash

I have family in Finland where the VAT is 14%.

9.5% is high in the South, but I doubt that's just for food. Where I live they also add additional 1% sale taxes to everything for maintaining the roads and to fund schools. Doubt Alabama has a soda tax a la NYC. She also has the option of food banks, but would rather not on the grounds of despising religion and feeling she is above "survival food."



I don't know if this is for retail wages or the fact that someone gave her that $15 she mentioned above.
