Plagued /vt/ and related vtuber lunacy - Touhou brony console wars

I don't understand why there's such a big hang-up with [/vt/, which is comprised of redditors in denial, hence /r/vt/] not allowing "roommate content" when it fills the same purpose as Null requiring criticism on Onlyfans pics to prevent coomer shit. While this information is sometimes useful to explain why Tsukumo Sana is lying about back pain so she can stream Genshin on her non-Hololive alt, 90% of the time it's off-topic garbage only being posted by the romantically mentally ill or the tribalistic mentally ill that has no bearing on the characters being played. It would be as useless as shrieking harpies hounding Kavanaugh or Depp or Micnogna for years-old things in the past that they may or may not have even done.
@Least Concern I am pinging you not to call you out but to ask for your angle, because I recall you mentioning that KF is a better site for tolerating "roommate content" while I think it actually makes this a worse site for vtuber discussion because the average person who is interested in vtuber facedox doesn't actually like vtubers, such as the seaniggers who ran dox discords for youtube ad revenue.

The bigger issue is the Circa 2022 faggots in the thread who slipped under the KF Registration closure. They make no attempt to assimilate with the Farms and treat the thread as a /vt/ + r/Holo hybrid satellite. I genuinely believe they have potential to survive the worst parts of the Thunderdome.
I have seen so much coping and "not like other vtuber fans" in that thread it makes me embarrassed to use this site as a whole.
I think KF would be better off if every 4reddit refugee with a vtuber username and/or no posts outside of vtuber threads got banned, but that's a nuclear option that would probably inspire shitheads to raid the site. Well, I guess they can't now because registrations are closed.

If it's anything like actual /vt/, it's to set a precedent so people won't shittalk golden cows like Artemis, as proved before.

Also,

I don't know why you feel the need to specify a difference. They're both forms of mental illness either way. You could just say "the mentally ill" and still get the point across, and both examples you provided are exactly the type of audience a vtuber is more or less intended to draw in the first place. Hardly anyone else would be just as quick to piss their money away on a glorified anime waifu streamer.

The "average person who is interested in vtuber facedox" is exactly the sort of the parasocial faggot you're decrying more often than not though.

Or it's someone who just wants to talk shit about them for kicks.

"lol fat" when referring to Karen never fails to piss off the deadbraps

Since you guys were talking about Nolan. Last year on the main thread, @Diya also did some digging on him and found him sperging about his dad a bit more.

The fact that I was able to remember this worries me. Guess I should thank @CharcoalChkn for saying.
I am certain that someone could easily dox you if they cared to because you are so damn keen to overshare.

I’ve made some adjustments. Like privating my Disqus. Privating YouTube playlists, etc. And planned to make more.

You say this as if it is going to change anything at all, it's pointless when we already have your shit here on the thread. If I were you I'd seriously just log off, you're obviously mentally unwell and very dumb if your OpSec is of any indication.

The longer you continue to post here the more everyone is just going to make fun of you.

The following is all my opinion and I will not claim to be speaking for anyone, but I think it's likely at least some of the thread regulars will agree with my take.

First off, doxxxxxxxxing is going to happen whether we want to see it or not. Just like with streamers like Dream, these people hiding their real identities makes it a game for people to find and uncover those real identities. In some cases, like Calliope Mori/Demon Dice Karen, their previous/real lives are public enough and their voice and behavior distinctive enough that it would have been kind of hard for that connection not to have been uncovered fairly quickly. And frankly, if that sort of thing is going to be done or discussed, it's a good thing, I think, for it to happen at a place like KF where fucking with people beyond observation and discussion is heavily frowned upon.

Second, well, to use a tired comparison, vtubing is like modern professional wrestling. Nobody thinks Korone is a literal dog-girl just like nobody thinks The Undertaker is a literal zombie or whatever, but you can allow yourself to mentally "play along" with the presentation while watching. There's a real person behind the character, though, and knowing who that person is and how they do their job can give a fuller understanding of the entertainment as a whole. If you watch a professional wrestling show and take everything being presented to you uncritically, you might be entertained but I'd argue you don't really have a full understanding of what you're seeing. Similarly, watching vtubers without caring about the performers or anything other than what the character and the company presents is perfectly fine and heckin' valid, but it's kind of a shallow experience, and you're probably believing some things which are not true.

At any rate, I'd take issue with the argument that "the average person who is interested in vtuber facedox doesn't actually like vtubers." I don't understand why that'd be an either/or thing. I don't usually go out of my way to find dox but doing so doesn't typically have bearing on how I feel about the character (that NijiEN guy who faked his death being an exception; he can choke on a sack of razor blades for that shit). Don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch.

Nolan, you have an entire public facing page with that account filled to the fucking brim with personal drama, fighting and power leveling.

Considering how it seems your arch nemesis Lexi has been threatening to post your name and address for the last 3-4 years I would consider that account high risk.

You really did not achieve much by privating that page.

Something else I noticed last night is that a lot of your friends posted their discords to your public page, and I actually found yours as well.

Privating doesn't do shit if you still post like an absolute tard on public facing pages with that account.

If I may offer my own two cents on this, as someone who held this opinion but has since stopped using the thread:

I think 'Roommate content' is a bit too specific. Most major spaces for V-Tuber fans to congregate, like Discord and Reddit, strongly oppose discussion of the roommate in any capacity.

Back when the west picked up on the industry, this time-honoured tradition was much easier to assimilate with because pretty much every person behind the V-Tuber was a Literal Who with negligible online presence. However, now that they've exploded in popularity, the bar for recruitment has been set higher, which means new initiates are far more likely to be well-known and carry a much more comprehensive online footprint, which also means more people are likely to recognise the person behind the character.

This has caused a bizarre, surreal, almost cultish situation in places like r/Holo and Fancords where there can be dozens of people all mutually aware that [X] person is [Y] V-Tuber, but even hinting at it will result in permabans and mods putting the kibosh on the discussion. Everyone has to pretend they don't know, and have to keep up appearances at all times out of fear they'll be ejected from engaging with the community.

KF allowed people to not really have to give a shit about that, so I don't think that is inherently what made the thread go to shit. The burgeoning desire for drama and scandals to occur so people can 'stick it' to the company they hate only gets worse, and that is imported directly from 4reddit. So, I agree with you in the end: I think that the inclusion of roommate discussion now only serves to give more people ammunition to have their console war.

Just the other day they spent pages gloating over their preferred company having better birthday merch — complete with incorrect info — and yet actual potentially valuable content, such as a video of Kiara's roommate running away from a stalker in Japan, doesn't get archived.

And frankly, if that sort of thing is going to be done or discussed, it's a good thing, I think, for it to happen at a place like KF where fucking with people beyond observation and discussion is heavily frowned upon.
Wishful thinking for the 4redditor refugee thread, I suppose.

While I agree with the idea that simply consooming what the brand presents is a shallow experience, a lot of the doooxxx that gets found is basically useless information. To use your analogy, it would be like spamming info on The Undertaker being a college dropout, because none of those people give a flying fuck about having a fuller understanding of his background. At least to me, learning that Kiara/Keekihime got wrestled by a fat jap, or that Amelia/Sachiowo had a boyfriend who broke up with her because her grandma died doesn't add any understanding to the entertainment, because neither of those things happened during their vtuber tenure, and likely didn't have any influence on their vtuber content.
At any rate, I'd take issue with the argument that "the average person who is interested in vtuber facedox doesn't actually like vtubers." I don't understand why that'd be an either/or thing. Alright, then how about "the average person who actively looks for vtuber facedox doesn't actually like vtubers"? To look for their pre-vtuber content is one thing (which is still irrelevant half the time), to feverishly look for crumbs of boyfriends is another. Almost every female vtuber dox devolves into seething over not being a pure virginal IRL waifu (Amegeddon, "Pomu" pics), while almost every male vtuber dox is solely to stir shit (16-year old Vox being a """groomer""", Luca's janny girlfriend). To that end, going out to look for that info is almost always done with the intent to start drama. Nobody who went looking for Nina Kosaka as Monkeyism cares about old streams, they went looking because zomg turbolefty will kill Nijisanji, nijiniggers btfo!!!!111!!!! To date, Nijisanji is still fine and Nina hasn't done any politisperging, so it was dramamongering over nothing.
I don't need to specifically know why Sana was on hiatus for months lying about back pain to stream Genshin on her alt because Holos can't to see that her lazy schedule and months-long absence was bullshit. I don't need to know that Sonny Brisko is a TF2 Youtuber who faked his own death to see that he's a /vt/-reading outsider and a terrible hire who has zero chemistry with the rest of NijiEN.
Perhaps it falls into my naive philosophy of a good society being one with no consequences for saying the word nigger but also not tolerating spergs running down the street screeching about niggers. I think the point I'm trying to articulate is that most of this information is stuff that will manifest in their vtuber characters anyway, so going out of the way to look for that info is at best a waste of time and at worst, console war ammo.

I'll be honest, I thought this one was interesting. Not because I care about who some vtuber is IRL. But because the TF2 content creator who faked their own death rabbit hole was very interesting and something I would have never heard of otherwise.

Okay, I guess I see where you're coming from. Even then, it's not the info that's so bad as is the way some tards are using it, isn't it?

At any rate, what solution do you propose? Do we ban roommate-posting from the KF thread? I think that'd go against how KF as a whole operates and also destroy a crucial element of the thread that makes it a better place to post than the official Reddits.

Maybe the mods could clamp down on baitposting and blatant tribalfagging. That's subjective, of course, but I certainly wouldn't be against it.

As for Amegeddon and the like… Vtuber roommates are (usually) young women, and young women like to fuck, and young men also like to fuck and typically have no standards, so there's a 98% chance your oshi has fucked. Even the thread's favorite, Pipkin Pippa, who is socially awkward and whose teeth are rotting out of her mouth and who cites showering as frequently as once every three days as an accomplishment (she could be lying about some or all of that but why would she lie about it?), has almost certainly had her toes curled once or twice in her life. This is just common sense and the people who can't understand it are just being willfully ignorant, and you can't really fix willful ignorance; just put the facts in their faces and wait for them to give it up on their own, I guess. And in that way too, being able to roommate-post is a benefit.

The related vtuber lunacy is coming from inside the thread.
I like it.
The entertainment of vtuber fans sperging-out without having to sift through the autism Chernobyl that is any vtuber discussion.

Also I'd argue everyone's thinking too much about the roommate shit. If its not illegal, its fair game.
I say this as it seems no other site exists to archive this sort of content (4archives can and have been DMCA'ed, and YT has been flagged by either the streamer or their cult of personality.)
