This is so relatable am I right fellow American citizens, let's just ignore Bill Gates buying up land and pushing synthetic foods though.

Never forget John Tester won his reelection in 2018 with a mini 3am ballot dump that no one questioned because everyone was focused on Florida and Arizona that year. He pretends he's a Manchin but doesn't even have the spine to stop nuking the filibuster.
Doesn't really mean much since Manchin is probably gone in '24. Sucks that WV is likely to get another Capito unless someone like Alex Mooney wants to run.

Gov. Gianforte should run against Tester as he's pretty solid and underrated, I hear. However, he's probably gonna run for reelection in 2024.

Covered this before, but Crib notes? My theory is the left literally doesn't believe that complex systems can act chaotically. Systems must remain static until the left acts upon them, can only change in ways the left demands they change, and no one else is allowed to make changes to the system.

That is to say, they gutted domestic oil production and oil imports dropped like a stone, and that CANNOT have an effect on prices if the Democrats did not intend it to have one. No, Markets do not and never have worked like this, but "the consequences of their own stupid ideas" has been the left's foe for a century or more.

If prices are going up, it can only be because the stores, or Putin, are choosing to fuck Biden over, personally, out of greed. So, two moral failings: greed, and refusing to embrace the great leader's agenda. That's the only explanation.

Now, consider that Biden said, repeatedly, during his campaign that his plan was to destroy the fossil fuel industry in the US. Consider that his cabinet, who is actually in charge, has said far worse. Some are literally Eco-Fascists. The endgame was probably some combination of "maybe people shouldn't drive so much" and "people should buy electric cars instead." The former makes the assumption that all of America live in bugman hives that are pedestrian friendly. The latter makes the assumption that the entire US can just drop their combustion engine car for electric cars that do not exist. (But I'm sure Ford and the other not-Tesla companies lied to Biden and said they'd be gearing up for Electric cars any day now boss.)

The gas tax scheme? Obviously that will lower the price and have no knock on effects anywhere else in the system, and that price will remain forever lowered. Because economics is a system, a complex system, and it's not allowed to change unless the left changes it, changes are only ever allowed to be more left leaning, and the only thing that is allowed to change is what the left intended to change.

For another good example of this, "defund the police." Kill the police budget and obviously the police will keep doing their jobs, at the same service level, with no rise in crime rates, right? Any changes in that would be completely impossible. And when it does happen, they have to create increasingly batshit excuses, or find increasingly desperate reasons NOT to talk about it.

What the fuck.

They're a business owner. Why is the POTUS telling small business owners (most 711 and gas stations are owned by normal people) to lower their prices. McXcuse me?

> cut off 1/3 of the oil production in the US
> you're charging too much, bring the prices down

What in tarnation.
The kicker is that gas is pretty much always a loss leader - you sell it cheap in the hope that people needing gas will decide that they need something to snack on or drink inside the store. The margins on gas at the pump level are basically fuckall.

If you're Wawa, that goes without saying. Donuts, coffee, snacks, breakfast, they got it all.

Congratulations, PA. You elected a TV pop doctor because he was "associated" with Trump. I swear, brand recognition is a political killer.
Don't blame me, I voted for Barnette.

Wawa is ballin' and their roast beef and meatball sandwiches are to die for.

You're giving them too much credit. The left believes that the universe is moral, and works something like a comic book, fairy tale, or other children's story. Since they are the good guys, the things they do can only have good consequences. If bad things are happening, it can't be their fault, because they're the good guys. If they have an idea, any idea at all, they automatically know it can't cause anything bad to happen, because they're the good guys.

From my dealings with leftists, this is spot on.

It's not stupidity, it's malice.
The goal for them is to destroy the oil industry.

Gas stations sell gas for the same reason Costco sells rotisserie chickens.

This will never happen and the author is obviously just fantasizing here, but I'm pretty sure if Texas were to secede, it would set off a chain reaction of other southern states seceding and it would fuck up the entire country. Not that people like the author care or think that far ahead, they only care about ensuring the only President that ever gets elected (in whatever is left of America) is Dem.

The comments for that piece are just..exceptional, to say the least.

Anyone else remember when California was calling for secession? Apparently they still are.

I don't believe that Texas even has the legal (well 'legal') ability to secede but instead to split the state into smaller states. Or at least that's what I've heard and could be misled on. Mind, even if they DID have the legal ability to do so I doubt that the government would allow it. Even if the vote passed they'd drum up a fake report on it being infiltrated or influenced unfairly by outside forces then immediately rush in to keep in check.

Texas has screamed about their 'right to secede' since becoming a state and will never stop it despite it being an empty threat.

Calm down everyone, he's giving us 18 bucks worth of breathing room over 3 months.
It's not a good idea to brag about a miniscule price drop when you're still at a net increase of over 100%. It reminds me of last year when they were bragging how they made 4th of July barbeques cost like 16 cents less but only on a few different foods.
