three main reasons
1. they've been trained to take things on faith with no proof; most have religious upbringing and watch repetitive cable entertainnews propaganda, they're easily led and easily tricked.
2. they are often older, senile- or more retarded in general; critical thinking and higher education are not valued by their social groups, those that are smart end up doing the grifting.
3. they are willing to pay for the feeling they get from potentially hurting "those people", whoever they've been told is "those people" this week. they have an addiction to spite, rage, self-righteousness and fear.

I've encountered this ridiculous argument (it is more of a joke than an argument even unironically) from forced-birth proponents before. I'm pretty sure it's legit. It may have even started as a joke. I don't know. But there are seriously forced-birth proponents who use this joke as a slogan.
