We do like to seal criminal records in Canada for often very small reasons. There's a combination of cucked 'protection for the vulnerable' even though they commit crimes and an institutional dislike for certain aspects of 'freedom of information' laws that could reveal information that might possibly reflect badly on the government that we've inherited from the UK legal system, even after all this time.

I've benefited from this circumstance in the past so I certainly cannot hate it, but it does make it hard to track down firm records of Canadian lolcows' crimes. We pretty much have to rely on them exposing themselves, which they almost always do because they are lolcows.

Well, they took an interest in that and they had the dogs sniff their luggage. Lo and behold, they got a hit on residue. So they get pulled in and questioned. Katherine is crying because she thinks she's going to be locked up in a Cuban jail. For one reason or another (I assume it wasn't enough of whatever narcotics it was to clip them for) they get let go. What does Alex do? Gets mad at Katherine because she's not proud of him and how he handled the immigration officers. Does he comfort her? No. Does he apologize for goading those officers? No. He gets pissed off because she's not proud of him for "talking his way out of charges".
