Slight PL but from my experience, a huge chunk of all "protected" (if that's the right term) groups agree with you. They actually go outside and thus have to deal with the crazy people's shit. Ezra was smart, he knew he would get a pass if he became non-binary. he was ahead of the game, think about guys like joss whedon or louis ck who years earlier got fucked despite being good allies that said the right things.
