You know, for all you Americans like to brag about how you're the leader of the free world you still somehow don't understand just how much even the banal things like what your talking heads say on TV affects the rest of the world. You want a horror story? My boomer mom here in Swedistan watches Trevor Noah religiously and regurgitates all his talking points whenever she can. She even bought his fucking books.

Get it through your thick American skulls. You're the leaders of the free world. That means when you do stupid shit like say men can be women the rest of the free world follows like fucking lemmings off a cliff. That's what it means to have cultural hegemony. We watch your TV, we wear your jeans, we eat your food. European culture is just American culture filtered through an LCD screen and that should horrify you because what's shown on those LCD screens is under the total control of the DNC.

No one wants to be a "leader of the free world". Most of US Americans want to be left the fuck alone, but you Europeans keep wanting us to get involved in your fucking bullshit, and most of us are fucking done.

Shut up, you fat cunt. Repopulating a white majority? When abortions are performed disproportionately on black women, by a wide margin? And half the states most likely to actually enforce a ban on abortion are in the fucking black belt? Why do these retards never put any thought into what they say? Also lmao:

And we're tired of you bombing the shit out of brown countries and causing mudslides of refugees to flow into our countries. Cope and seethe, Amerimutt, because if we have to, then you do too.

You're the guys who decided to replace the Britbongs as world hegemons and then drop the ball on your foot. I blame you.
You've got a point but it's completely moot.

America as a nation state's entire economy and cultural zeitgeist is built around the cycle of getting retards excited for product so they will consume product. That is quite literally all there is to why we do anything and, for reasons that are honestly too complicated to go into on a fucking Kiwifarms reply, it's not going to change. Mid wits like Trevor Noah and Colbert are just instruments in perpetuating this cycle and old boomer ladies who take their shit seriously and smile on absentmindedly as their kids troon out is a feature of the machine because hormones are also product. Big Pharma has A LOT of economic and therefore political power over here.

I'm not saying you aren't justified in being angry about it but what I am saying is that expecting Murica to be something it isn't is an exercise in futility. This is the land where the cycle of consumption reigns supreme over quite literally everything and we will disintegrate as a nation state before breaking that. We'll start fucking wars over keeping that cycle alive because the powers in control would sooner see me and you and theoretically the rest of the fucking planet reduced to glass before they let go of that endless stream of liquid assets.

It will NEVER stop.

So tolerant. Much wow. Who said I was even for bombing countries, because I sure as fuck didn't. I'm sick of getting involved in pointless proxy wars on behalf of fucking NATO, you jackass. I'm on your side in this. I'm a strict isolationist when it comes in wanting to get involved in another countries' bullshit.

Here's some more Reddit salt.

r/196 considers going dark in the face of the ruling. Because I'm sure the SCOTUS will undo their ruling once a Subreddit goes private.

This Redditor doesn't understand the different between a Federally-enforced law and a Constitutional Right. (Hint: abortion was NEVER a Constitutional Right)

Hm, I must've missed the Amendment to the United States Constitution where James Madison wrote "The right of the people to kill unborn babies shall not be infringed."

This is going to wind up being a massive L for Republicans in the long run when the eventual criminalization of abortion in red states results in:
  1. An acceleration of the brain drain from red states to blue states as educated and upwardly mobile women and couples decide to leave at an even higher rate than they were before.
  2. A significant increase in crime as more children are born into dysfunctional circumstances, increasing the burden upon the community, the taxpayer, and altogether making red states even worse places to live.
  3. The terrible optics of the inevitable news reports of scores of women dying from botched, backstreet abortions, for which the Republican Party will almost certainly receive the blame.
  4. An almost certain increase in the fertility rate of demographics which pretty much unanimously vote Democrat at every level of power.
A massive own goal if ever there was one, and for what? An entirely sentimental victory which is of no practical benefit to anyone.

Maybe if you guys actually had a grip on your borders and your leaders weren't pussies, you wouldn't have to type ragey screeds to randoms on the internet on a thread about US abortion rights.

I support abortion, I don't really care what shit hole countries like America do to their own citizens. What I don't get is, isn't this ruling just saying it's up to the states?

Surely places like California have legal abortion? So why go protest like a maniac if you live there?

If you support abortion, just vote for people who do. Easy. Or is there something I am missing? Besides it sucks for the people who want abortions in red neck states.
You're pretty much spot on. Basically:
1. Roe v Wade killed the nascent movement to make abortion rights an explicit federal law. Once everyone who wanted access to abortion had it, they no longer gave that much of a shit and didn't push for what they really needed long-term.
2. Tons of "liberals" interpret Roe v Wade as set in stone, when in reality it's always been far from it. It conjures the constitutional right to an abortion out of thin air by extrapolating heavily. The 14th amendment was interpreted as having a right to privacy, and this right to privacy was further interpreted to extend to doctor/patient relations. Since medical procedures are part of doctor/patient relations, and abortion is technically a medical procedure (it's surgery), badaboom badabing, constitutional right to abortion.
3. A lot of the people chimping out over this don't even understand the real implications of this. Like you said, California will always have legal abortion knowing it's constituents and districting. And from the maps I've seen that speculate what states will have abortion bans in the future, it doesn't even seem that bad. Most people will still probably be within under 750 miles of an abortion clinic. You know what this means... ROADTRIP!!!

I think it was a legally sound decision, but yeah, Republicans actually pushing for this for so long is mind boggling. As much as I find a lot of "you're just a hypocrite!!" arguments annoying, I do think the "pro-life in regard to abortion, anti-life in regard to all else" meme is way too common. Like, seriously, the crusty old fucks that voted for people in my class to fucking die in a desert? Yeah, I'm sure those guys are real happy that muh unborn proto-behbies are finally safe.
