There's a real argument to be had there. How many "old enough to bleed old enough to breed" types would end up either killing themselves or getting murdered because they "married" the most dangerous creature known to man (16 year old with bpd).

You'd think these 30 year old women would be hyping the fact they have their fucking life in order. I'm sure plenty of young men with 0 life experience would be easily woo-ed by the feminine arts of having a steady job and paying taxes. Not that these women would want the kind of slob that attracts. How many 40 year old men cultivating interests like flyfishing and alcoholism want a 22 year old starlet that isn't a pure trophy wife. I.E she's fucking planning a trip to hike in Patagonia and expects him to keep pace.

I understand that people on twitter are ignorant about the laws, but I had no idea about any of them before this thread and just using the highlights it was enough to understand that those fringe cases (rape, incest) that people keep making strawmen out of are still going to be allowed to result in abortions even in the states that made it illegal. I expected a little bit more brain power from the users here who keep making twitter-tier arguments.

Wait, isn't Plan B now over-the-counter and completely unregulated? I was under the impression anyone could just walk into a drug store, snag a box off the shelf, pay for it and leave, no questions asked (just as if they were buying a bottle of aspirin).

It's just the monied interests were formerly less hateful toward the people, especially in the middle of the century when the Great Depression combined with WWII forced them to compromise with us instead of running us plebs over like in the early 20th century or as they do now. You really don't know the history of the Court during the Great Depression and WW2. They were the only thing preventing Roosevelt from his Authoritarian Socialist dreams. It was the Court that blocked Roosevelt from seizing control of every business in the country Soviet style. The Court and Roosevelt hated each other. He was the last to try actual court packing.

What's stopping them from leaving the state, getting an abortion and then coming back? What's stopping them from voting for a pro-abortion politician? What's stopping them from lobbying for abortion? They don't seem very determined if all it takes to repel them is defederalizing abortion.

Ignoring that a lot of these places that have seen such an influx are surrounded by other states that also severely restrict abortion access, having to take a plane or a bus every time they get a live load put in them is going to cost both money and time, on top of that the suggestion of "just vote for a pro-abortion politician!" in somewhere like Texas or Louisiana is laughable.

But overall you're missing the greater point entirely, somehow, that the people I'm talking about in that post are escaping from their political choices for what they saw no consequence and all upsides. Now that there's a significant downside that demands lifestyle changes that they find detestable at best, they're stuck between living under laws they find disgusting or having to go back to their hellholes. If you honestly still think it's about availability rather than convenience I don't think I can explain it in a way you'll understand at all.
