Olivia Rodrigo and Lily Allen Dedicate ‘F– You’ to the Supreme Court at Glastonbury: ‘We Hate You’

Olivia Rodrigo didn’t mince her words when addressing the Supreme Court’s vote to overturn Roe v. Wade via the Dobbs v. Jackson decision on Friday during her set at the Glastonbury music festival in England.

“I’m devastated and terrified that so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this,” she said, bringing out Lily Allen to sing the song “F— You,” which they dedicated to each of the justices who voted in favor of the decision.

“I wanted to dedicated this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have shown us that, at the end of the day, they truly don’t give a s— about freedom,” she continued. “This song goes out to the justices: Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, and Brett Kavanaugh. We hate you.”

Rodrigo has often been outspoken about equal rights on stage. In May, after the Supreme Court’s draft decision on Dobbs v. Jackson leaked, she spoke about abortion during a Washington, D.C. concert.

“Because we’re in D.C., I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to say how heartbroken I am over the Supreme Court’s potential decision,” she said. “Our bodies should never be in the hands of politicians. I hope we can raise our voices to protect our right, to have a safe abortion, which is a right that so many people before us have worked so hard to get.”

The “Good 4 U” singer also wasn’t the only one to address the Supreme Court’s decision at Glastonbury. Phoebe Bridgers led a chant of “F— the Supreme Court” during her set.

“In all honesty, it’s like super surreal and fun. But I am having, like, the shittiest day,” she told the audience. “Are there any Americans here?” she continued. “Who wants to say ‘F— the Supreme Court’ on three?”

Billie Eilish also introduced her song “Your Power” with a comment about the decision, saying: “Today is a really, really dark day for women in the U.S. I’m just going to say that because I can’t bear to think about it any longer.”

Remember this; none of these people—and I am quite confident making this claim—have read Dobbs or the Roe/Casey line of cases it overturns. Most of them are probably incapable of actually comprehending any of these court decisions if they were to try to read them, let alone even summarizing the issues each presents. And yet their irratobal, emotive hysteria is a poweful force behind how many people are reacting to this..

We simply do not have an educated citizeney that was envisaged as a prerequisite for a democratic republic to work.
I follow a black woman on IG, excellent seamstress, makes the nicest vintage clothing.
She makes one of those "my uterus isn't ruled by mediocre white men" posts. Even though she's married to a white man.

She took down the post after I told her that not only is Justice Thomas black, he wrote the damn ruling, so how could it be white men's fault?
She didn't block me, but I've lost my interest in her now.

Presuming you are white and racially conscious, I am sure there are just as many white women who are just as good if not better. You losing interest sounds like a better late than never type of deal.

After all, we've had these various statements, Zelenskyy gracing us with a kickass cover version of Spanish Bombs entitled 'Slavic Bombs' and we also got an appearance from the Climate Goblin herself, Greta Thunberg, who sang Nelly's 'Hot In Here' complete with a rather literal dance routine because she just really needed that attention.
what? did that realy happen?

Women kept saying no uterus no opinion. I agree so that’s why I’m not actively against it. However, it’s hypocritical if they want my opinion to support it since I have no uterus. :smug:
I pissed off a co-worker so much with a Facebook post like this a few years back.

It was hilarious watching her use word salad and mental gymnastics to form a counter argument for my very clear logic based on her own Facebook posts, which I would screenshot and post to rile her up more.

What I’m saying is it’s HIGHLY effective and hilarious to watch as they spiral.

Centrist beliefs in any regard make people seethe though. Not necessarily centrist but it’s funny how much people don’t understand and hate it.
