Olivia Rodrigo and Lily Allen Dedicate ‘F– You’ to the Supreme Court at Glastonbury: ‘We Hate You’

Olivia Rodrigo didn’t mince her words when addressing the Supreme Court’s vote to overturn Roe v. Wade via the Dobbs v. Jackson decision on Friday during her set at the Glastonbury music festival in England.

“I’m devastated and terrified that so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this,” she said, bringing out Lily Allen to sing the song “F— You,” which they dedicated to each of the justices who voted in favor of the decision.

“I wanted to dedicated this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have shown us that, at the end of the day, they truly don’t give a s— about freedom,” she continued. “This song goes out to the justices: Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, and Brett Kavanaugh. We hate you.”

Rodrigo has often been outspoken about equal rights on stage. In May, after the Supreme Court’s draft decision on Dobbs v. Jackson leaked, she spoke about abortion during a Washington, D.C. concert.

“Because we’re in D.C., I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to say how heartbroken I am over the Supreme Court’s potential decision,” she said. “Our bodies should never be in the hands of politicians. I hope we can raise our voices to protect our right, to have a safe abortion, which is a right that so many people before us have worked so hard to get.”

The “Good 4 U” singer also wasn’t the only one to address the Supreme Court’s decision at Glastonbury. Phoebe Bridgers led a chant of “F— the Supreme Court” during her set.

“In all honesty, it’s like super surreal and fun. But I am having, like, the shittiest day,” she told the audience. “Are there any Americans here?” she continued. “Who wants to say ‘F— the Supreme Court’ on three?”

Billie Eilish also introduced her song “Your Power” with a comment about the decision, saying: “Today is a really, really dark day for women in the U.S. I’m just going to say that because I can’t bear to think about it any longer.”

Any way you know how
I am too lazy/busy at the moment to look but how much sewage has this jackass made about Jan 6th? I am betting somewhere in the 50-100 range.
Setback in what, Bill? What got setback? It also puts barely anyone at risk. Far less than some of the shit you have cooked up in your life.
Even without the error this is such cringe.
Can we get mid-2000's Taylor back? I actually thought she was kind of smart before she made the mistake of stepping out of her zone.
This is an outright lie and the dog fucker cloner is not the only person to spread it.
Well you see George and I am a little embarrassed to even explain this to a constitutional scholar such as yourself but there is a right to own and carry firearms. There is no right to scoop out a fetus. The argument which I am sure you have read dozens of times was incredibly flimsy cover for congress to pass a law protecting the right to murder babies(which I thought the left hated in the 70's what with all the spitting on veterans).

I find it very telling that someone who was actually in a fucking internment camp is so pro disarmament.

Now I remember why I like my musicians to be those long dead 70s druggies- -they can't politisperge. Thank God I can enjoy Freddie Mercury without hearing his political platform. Jimi Hendrix had some race-related and anti-war songs, but at least that shit reflected the reality of the times. Janis Joplin might have been a "feminist", but at least she could appreciate the merits of dick.

Musicians now are insufferable twats.

This is absolutely disgusting. And to try to dredge this shit up after both what happened to Kavanaugh and after dismissing the woman accusing Biden…. Disingenuous scumbag.

I’m way ahead of you there. I already try to avoid listening to your music whenever possible.
Lol Great Value Madonna’s still kicking, I see.

And for all their shit about bodily autonomy, these are the same jokers who will tell you you have a right to healthcare, that you should Bake The Cake, Bigot and that you should get Moderna’s latest witch brew injected into your ass. They don’t consider that a government that can order a doctor to work on you, that can order a baker to take your business and can order you to take the shot For The Public Good absolutely CAN order your uterus having ass to carry that little future taxpayer in there to term if they feel like it.

I was just thinking the same thing. Haven't heard David Bowie's opinion.

Almost all musicians today are completely manufactured stars. Billie Eilish is the child of actors, Taylor Swift is the daughter of a fucking banker. Stars were always picked out, but they were never literally manufactured. Sound Cloud artists are the closest fucking thing, but a lot of those are artificial. The grassroots bullshit was started by that kike Bob Dylan.

Who are Billies' parents?

Taylor Swift always made me laugh a bit because I knew she was from a rich part of town in rural Pennsylvania---- and yet she would still sing with a Southern twang. The area she's from is like the bedroom city for rich Philadelphia or Washington DC commuters.

I guess Tom Hanks will dislike this meme I saw on Twitter about Roe vs Wade. :story:

Roe v. Wade and gun violence take center stage at BET Awards

Taraji P. Henson opened the 2022 BET Awards addressing both the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade and gun violence.

Henson first thanked opening performer Lizzo for pledging $1 million to Planned Parenthood before using the singer's song titled, "About Damn Time" to make a point.

"It's about damn time we step into our power," Henson said. "It's about damn time we talk about the fact that guns have more rights than a woman. It's a sad day in America."

"A weapon that can take lives has more power than a woman who can give life if she chooses to," Henson added.

That sentiment was on the minds of many women in the entertainment industry around the world. At the Glastonbury music festival in England over the weekend, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish and several other artists blasted the Supreme Court's ruling on Friday, which overturned a woman's constitutional right to end a pregnancy after nearly half a century.

At the BET Awards, singer and actress Janelle Monáe presented the first award of the night, best female/R&B artist, and hailed Black artists - women in particular.

"Owning our truth and expressing ourselves freely and unapologetically in a world that tries to control and police our bodies, my body and our decisions," she said. "My decision. F*** you, Supreme Court."

Jazmine Sullivan won the award and during her acceptance speech addressed the men of the world.

"It's a hard time right now for us [women] and I want to speak directly to the men," Sullivan said. "We need y'all. We need y'all to stand up for us, stand up with us. If you've ever benefited from a woman making one of the toughest decisions of her life, which is to terminate a pregnancy, you need to be standing with us."

"This is not just a woman's issue," she said. "This is everybody's issue. And we need you more than ever."

A slide reading "Roe v Wade" was also included in the show's "In Memoriam" segment.
