Also, I don't think Pat's not apologising because of that sensible reason. I think he's not saying sorry because he just won't say it. He's never sorry, child, even taking 'sorry' to mean 'I have sympathy that this bad thing happened to you' rather than 'I regret the actions I have taken to cause this situation'.

I'm saying Pat lacks not only basic empathy, but also the basic social skills to understand that these women want to feel validated. As you say, Pat is not very good at paying lip service. I don't think Pat's wrong when he says he's conservative - not in the grand scheme of politics, but by the standards of the SFF community.
