I don’t know how this Calli thing has gotten as much straight-faced hand-wringing as it has. Do we not think Gura has been to a party before? Are we still pretending that she is a “recovering alcoholic” because she streamed drunk more often when she was younger? Do we not think if she had a problem with anything going on she wouldn’t be capable of speaking up on her own? Do we really think a few people playing music and having a couple drinks at an Airbnb is automatic code for a dangerous rape festival? Do regular actual celebrities not constantly go out to places with their real-ass faces out in locations literally known to the public, and yet frequently remain shocking un-murdered? Could someone remind me of the current running total of VTubers shanked and left in gutters by deranged fans? Is it still zero? I think probably it’s still zero.

I feel like the fandom may be overreacting with this one. Completely unprecedented, I know…

This has been an interesting read, because I agree with the crux of the complaints, but not the severity.

Like, was the situation inconsiderate to Gura? Maybe, but it's not that bad.
Was Gura probably a little annoyed with it? Maybe, but I doubt she was that annoyed.
Did it carelessly increase their opsec risk? Maybe, but it's not that risky.
Was the way Calli talked about it on stream kinda dumb? ...Yeah nah it definitely was, lol

I didn't catch that whole collab, but Kiara was being very, very sweet to Ame during the part that I watched.

But that's what's the most interesting about it. Normally the bitching, whining, and calling for reprimands is kept in /vt/, discord groups, or sometimes here, but the VoD is filled with comments upvoted to the top about how much regular fans didn't like what she did. I still like my gossip at heart and can laugh at stupid plays like Ralph, and this is no different knowing the kind of people that watch vtubing and the community. Mori should have just said nothing on stream and instead gave out way too much info and it's funny.

Something to break up the mindless posts at the moment, bit of a palate cleanser I would say. But seeing sweet old innocent Haachama, get taught the fucking joke "LIGMA" from ironmouse has ruined me. She sounds so incredibly interested in trying to understand what it means it just makes that much funnier.
