Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

Dunno if it was said here, but there are radical differences between people that play videogames in the west and the east. And you are right that the game is mostly made for China. Because studies also revealed that while pretty much most gamers in the west hated P2W and microtransactions, in Asia (and manly China), they actually liked them and they wanted to be able to pay in order to be better or powerful than others.

Games marketed to China will have as many microtransactions as possible in order to fleece the chinamen of all their yuans. And they will happily part with their money as long as their e-dick is longer than others. The fact that the game was delayed in China and it will very likely be banned is hilarious enough. Blizz cannot stop taking heat even for a second and this will probably make the game bomb.
Some people get angry when I refer to the Chinese as insects, but stuff like this assures me I'm right.

r/Mechmarket is the hub for redditors looking to buy, sell, and trade mechanical keyboards and their parts.

Sadly this user hasnt posted an image of their keyboard hoard.
Pretty funny, 1000 will not get you like the most hyped keyboard or Flex board like a TGR or Keycult but will cover some of the best you can buy if you missed a group buy.
GMK keysets are worth anywhere from $170 to like $400 on average, this is due to sets being ran in Group buy and GMK having to make them which as of writing this is up to 2 and a hlaf years wait from a GB ending
You can see ""GB End" and "Shipped Date" here

You can actually make a profit on quite a lot of stuff you buy in the hobby due to this fact stuff is either ran in limited numbers like boards or take ages to be made and shipped or just rarity like Artisan keycaps.

I like a smart consoomer refuse to buy any after market prices on anything but will join Group buys or try my luck at raffles on boards and artisans I like. I have a board I was lucky enough to get a spot in the GB for was about $300 or something and seen them sell from anywhere from 2k to 3.5k as of recent. Not that I sell much or buy much but I could come out much richer than the money i've put in.

Imagine feeling smug about getting into a raffle for the chance to be able to buy a keyboard lmao.

This is a consumer thread why does it always devolve into people going "I buy stuff but not in the BAD way. I collect useless redundant things intelligently, unlike those other simpletons".

You can only use one keyboard at a time silly

I fully admit my hobby is dumb and consoomery. I waste money on plastic and metal because I enjoy how it looks and sounds its as simple as that.
I was just explaining why some things cost the way they do, and a bit more insight paints a better picture of it all. That doesnt stop it being dumb and consoomery it just explains some of the aspects better to understand and yes buying after market is cringe, selling after market is based.

Playstation games aren't actually "rare". You see hundreds if not thousands of listings for them at these insane prices lately because of this specific consoomer current year game collector "WOAH VALUABLE THING!!!!" mindset.
It pisses me off, especially with me being a guy who doesn't want to bother with just fucking emulating everything and would actually give people money for their used games if they werent' selling shit like megaman for 200 fucking dollars. The worst joke though? A lot of foreign/japanese release versions of the games run for dirt cheap. I was at a fucking game seller convention recently to see if I could buy shit, but they were all going by the post-covid online prices, so you had shit like Earthbound for TWO FUCKING THOUSAND DOLLARS and then a real, sealed, Mother 2 with a slightly dinged up corner on the box for 35 dollars. I fucking hate this shit so fucking much you would not believe.
Anyone who still thinks Earthbound is rare is an idiot or a speculator trying to sell it.

Video game collectors are some of the worst for this, but it amazes me how many people make their room look like a Gamestop used game shelf or Walmart toy isle and go "yeah this looks good". Congrats you made a micro big box store in your game room.

edit:

Punchable looking <3

rarity is a myth, these articles gain value based on hype first and foremost.

So Diablo Immortal was made for the Asian market. Mostly China. One of the devs said on Chinese Social Media that "the bear should step down". Bear being Pooh. And now the game is delayed to launch there. Maybe never releasing there. Good job on vetting devs Blizzard.

I bet that dev had the Cosby Suite reopened just for him, and hasn't left it since the tweet was posted. Imagine being Blizzard: getting progressively worse as time passes, pissing off your fanbase AND the idiotic professional ofendees on twitter (who barely play your games, but make a lot of noise) at every turn, selling your soul for a shot at the chink market, further pissing off the fanbase of one of your oldest, best-established PC franchises by making it a mobile gacha... and then you get cock-blocked out of billions of dollars because a sperg can't help but broadcast his opinions to the whole world.

I for one welcome our new chin chong overlords and hope they will take pity on me during the uprising of the new world order.

You would think that Disney would instead turn one of their cruise ships in that Star Wars Galaxy edge ship but no instead they stuff all the weird Soyboys and ham beasts into a windowless building with overpriced blue shrimp that probably stinks of stale farts.

Probably is best for the other guests that they don’t mingle with the young families
They could make bank if they did something like a pirates of the caribbean cruise ship, because that actually makes sense as a theme?? I'm pretty sure Disney execs are all complete retards at this point. Their business ventures must be decided by playing fucking mad libs.

Speaking of Diablo Immortal, it made over 24 million in 2 weeks with over 8 million downloads.
It takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to upgrade your character fully. (Literal house money for a virtual character)

I honestly wonder if the guy did it on purpose because he was disgruntled at the company and wanted to royally fuck them over.
Yeah. He caused untold millions in damages ...but it's such a tiny, easily deniable "mistake" that it wouldn't affect his future work prospects.

It's genius really.

At this point i would believe he did it intentionally to screw over the company. Blizz already took heat from the great bear of the east before when people used Mei from Overwatch as the symbol for the Hong Kong independent protests and they had to take down any merchandise of her from the online store.

If you work at Blizz and you don't know you have to bow down to Xi Jinping, you are retarded or new.

Blizzard also banned Blitzchung for saying "FREE HONG KONG" during a Hearthstone tournament, and fired the casters that interviewed him. The Blitzchung ban was only temporary, due to massive outcry against Blizzard for the ban. I don't remember if the casters were re-hired, or they had to find work elsewhere.

Also, Mitsubishi Motors dropped their sponsorship for Hearthstone, shortly after the Blitzchung ban.

Anyone notice that the nerd-loser segment of the population eventually ruins all hobbies?

I was into 'retrogaming' in the mid 90s and for a long time, the reaction I got was 'lol just use an emulator'. But then sometime (maybe after gamergate?) retrogaming started to fill up with 1) trannies 2) furries 3) consoomers (often all at once). We had bad apples before this, alot of conmen ripping people off, and our own share of smelly nerds, but it absolutely exploded at some point without me realizing it (until it was complete). Eventually it got taken over by autists like speedrunners and all their loser hangers on.

I also noticed that the nerd loser consoomer retrogamers buy games they never play. You think that dumbass plays half of those? Complete set of NES games with all the tennis games collecting dust on a shelf? You betcha he has them, driving up the prices for people who may actually want to play them (hey I am sure there are some people).

Hey, at least he looks better than Moviebob in his Mario outfit.

Problem is Disney are the biggest bunch of cheapskates in the world, that's why their boss Bob Chapek is called "Cheapek". Someone probably came up with this idea at some point and Cheapek or someone who thinks like him looked at the costs and vetoed it. The mindset at Disney is to churn out schlock and take zero risks and expect people will buy it anyway that you'll make almost as much profit, that's why Cheapek was the one who made all the really bad direct-to-video sequels in the 90s/00s. You can also see that mindset at work in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge where cost is cut at all corners, including the very concept which deliberately minimizes references to pre-Disney Star Wars because that means paying George Lucas more royalties (this is super common in all things Disney Star Wars BTW).

when hipsters touch something its over. Those are the nerds that increase their interest once they see there's validation. They notice news outlets talking about a craze for pohkemanz cards or retro games or comics or a franchise thats being memed on reddit and they flock to it like flies to shit so they can take pictures with the thing and make quotes and self deprecating jokes about how "nerdy" they are.

Considering they managed to do this with knitting nothing surprises me at this point.

Fewer people getting married and having family lives but instead extended bachelor life into their late 30s and therefore having more disposable income to become good consoomers I think is a large part of it. Corporate America of course loves this it's the same reason they like homosexuals (no offense meant fag kiwis).
