I haven't gone too deep into his stuff, but
this tweet (a) from his older account irks the shit out of me.
So Paul McHugh is a fairly respected (in his field) psychologist who's been at Johns Hopkins for years. Johns Hopkins is also a world renown university/hospital/medical school that's famous for lots of fantastic medical breakthroughs.
Unfortunately, as anyone who's seen Silence of the Lambs would know, Johns Hopkins was also famous for pioneering tranny nonsense in some ways. Indeed John Money himself established the gender identity clinic there in 1965.
About 14 years later, Paul McHugh examined the evidence and concluded that everything they were doing in the Johns Hopkins gender identity clinic was nonsense and he shut it down. It wasn't "political pressure". It was because it was shit science and trooning out didn't help anyone.
Now, in the decades since, they've reopened the gender identity clinic at Johns Hopkins and they're back to trooning people out again. Reopening the gender identity clinic? That's the real "political pressure".
Paul McHugh is indeed still a professor at Johns Hopkins, but they overruled him I guess. He's old and probably doesn't have it in him to fight this nonsense anymore.
