A male is going to be generally stronger than a female even if both weigh exactly the same. A fit man has more lean mass than a fit woman. To the tune of 6-13% body fat for male athletes, vs 14-20% for female athletes. Which means those denser male muscle fibers and bones get a free pass while the women competing with the guy have to carry a lot of effectively dead weight when it comes to high performance sporting activities.

Weight-limited classes make the distinction between male and female performance ridiculously obvious. It's just plain more practical to just split it by sex.

ETA: so yeah, do that with skateboarding and the heavier classes will be male-only, while the lighter classes will be dominated by 14-year old boys schooling 25-year old women. Either way, female athletes become irrelevant.

It started with Usenet, then they moved on to IRC, then online chatrooms (anyone remember AOL?), then AIM/MSN/YIM, then Skype, and now we've got Telegram and Discord. The creeps and groomers have always been there, and they'll just move on to the next app that becomes popular. The only solution is to go back to the early days of the internet and teach people (particularly kids) to not talk to fucking creeps in the first place.
