Arin confirms that he got dropped by Sega in promoting Sonic because people rightfully gave Sega tons of shit for having him as a brand ambassador. Shout out to Dan for being a kiss ass and saying that Arin is "too honest" with his opinions.

Meanwhile, Japan got one of those VTuber sluts to promote Sonic instead. Her actor might be just as fat as Arin but at least no one has to see them.

Yeah, I really don't get it either. No one that's into video games is ignorant of Sonic's existence. It'd be like Nintendo trying to get someone to promote Mario, anyone with the slightest knowledge of video games knows who he is.

Keep in mind, Korone's promotion of Sanic is mostly localized to Japan, where the franchise isn't nearly as well known as over here:

Arin should post more of his Ls. He has so little self-awareness that it's hilarious. Imagine literally playing Sonic games solely to shit on them for views then being shocked when Sega drops you has a promo mascot. It makes no sense that they hired him in the first place.
Inugami Korone is leagues more entertaining than Arin and Sega are far more better with her as a promo mascot

Arin still insists that he loves Sonic and his fans truly believe it. The fucking guy read an email an anonymous developer of Sonic Heroes sent to him just to blast the development team, man. You don't do that unless you got some true and honest hatred, man. Can someone make a compilation of Arin only tearing down Sonic? Not just the goofy insane moments where he's like "wat is dis?" or "fucking froggy" or whatever, just the times where he's shitting on Sonic, the creators and the fans. Call it "Arin Hanson Loves Sonic" but only show him being entirely mean-spirited towards the series and its fans. I'm not like a fanboy or anything but it's so plainly obvious that he hates and shits on it entirely for views that I'm shocked so many people don't see it lol

I have no idea why people in the official subreddit militantly defend Arin's behavior. His constant bitching is the reason I stopped watching, and most likely everybody else too.

I think most of them are just kids/have the mentality of children. In their mind, Arin is that cool rebel kid that shows up to parties and acts like he's above everything else and does his own thing. He was literally too cool for school so he dropped out and started his own career where he hangs out with his friends and plays games all day. And he totally has a smoking hot gothic wife who also loves playing games. He can drink and get high whenever he wants, and he doesn't have to follow a work schedule. And what does he spend all that money on? Awesome anime stuff. He's also so smart because he has his own views and challenges the "general" belief.

Fast forward a few years, that guy remains the same, but your viewset changes because you grew up and matured and you realized he's just a sad highschool dropout who has to hang out with kids because anybody with even the slightest bit of real world experience sees how lame he is. He wastes his money, poorly manages his company, likely has no prospects or savings for the future and his wife is an equally sad leech who really doesn't care about him and is equally inept at life. And what was formally seen as intelligence you quickly realize was just him being contrarian.

In comparison, Jon and even Danny are basically exactly what you expect them to be. Jon's your goofy chubby friend that is fun to hang out with but is still mature enough to have his life together even if it's not necessarily a big part of his personality. Danny is the creepy stoner friend that's pretty chill but definitely not someone you'd leave alone with your female friends.

It's been the same defense for the last ten years, and it's been repeated so often that even Arin has forgotten that them calling themselves the "Game Grumps" was meant to be ironic.

For the record, the VTuber stuff is because the Sonic movie is getting a Japanese dub that comes out next month and she provides a voice in it. There's no word yet who she's voicing, but it's probably one of the human characters. That's why there's a weird cross promotion. This is primarily a way to try and get people to even SEE the movie in Japan, because Sonic doesn't have the kind of rabid fanbase there as it does here...but those fuckers *love* YouTubers/VTubers.

Arin much like the blob is still assblasted about the console wars, he's mid 30s going on 40 and still bothered by Sonic vs Mario because he was a nintendo kid back when sega was actually winning, then the N64 got annihilated by the PSX and its been all downhill since then.

The difference with the blob is that at least Arin used to have talent at some point.
