I tried to watch kson when she debuted since Coco was a big part of why I got into vtubing myself but I didn't think she was funny. I remember her collabing with Melody and they were both naked and had Coco came up for air (like she was going down on Melody) cause "ohho how naughty amirite underaged viewers" and I realized that outside of Cover's control she was just vhoujo tier so I guess she'll fit in with them.

You know I would agree with you if it wasn't for the fact that Vshojo basically just follows the Twitch Meta and does 70% reaction content or in one case not stream at all and wasting a slot in their roster...

As much as I'd like to think Chama needs to be freed to do even more crazy shit—because I mostly love her for doing crazy shit—she really does love her Holo friends too much to leave them unless she's forced to. That's why she's so sad about Coco being gone, why only she really came out for Rushia, etc.

Maybe her wanting to stream with Kson and nü-Rushia and being refused will make her angry enough to leave. I think they'll let her do it because they understand how important she is.

I know that responding to blatant bait is generally dumb, but I've seen people say such things elsewhere as well. I think people are overestimating how much this will change things.

Realistically we are going to go from a time in which Mikeneko and KSon were making a lot of money as indies to one in which they are making a lot of money while under the VShojo label.

That has no real impact on Hololive or Nijisanji because it's not like that money was going to Hololive or Nijisanji in the first place. Obviously it was going to Holo if you go back to when they were members of Hololive, but it's not like them leaving brought about the fall of Cover or forced them to do much differently.

Additionally, VShojo's policy of incorporating popular streamers isn't bad, but it's also something that limits their roster. It's not like there is a sea of KSon and Mikeneko tier vtubers in Japan just ready to be swept up into VShojo.

In other words, this doesn't force Holo or Niji to do anything. Cover has had a string of successes while Anycolor can be pleased with the likes of Salome and Luxiem. That two vtubers who aren't under either agency are also successful doesn't change anything. VShojo's top EN talents almost certainly out-earn most of HoloEN and NijiEN on an individual basis but that hasn't forced HoloEN or NijiEN to adopt looser management, switch to Twitch, or whatever.

Lord Aethelstan is Vshojo + at least given how deep he's in with them and Nyanners, give it a bit for Vshonen and he'll be on the roster easy.

This place doesn't have a Vshojo defence force, normally people tribal hard against them if they're discussed at all. About the only member you'll see talked about non-critically consistently is Mouse. That people are actually talking things over instead of dismissing goes to show just how interesting a move this is for the JP scene and what it means for Holo/Niji's prospects.
