jim most likely has an ar-15 in his house. no way did he get doxxed and not prepare for the worst case scenario. especially with ralph saying he's "a fixin to hollar at his house."
though if jim is smart, he won't do anything until the moment someone breaks in.
that's the law. you have to wait until someone breaks in to be allowed to shoot them.
edit: it's not really the law, but if you don't do it, a prosecutor will use it as a point against you.
