I was looking at the Youtube comments as a whole, and Rhys sure did a great job of peak transing a bunch of libs. For every person who defends him (which is about 1 out of every 20) there are about a dozen or so rebuttals on average to those defenders ranging from "her arguments make no sense" to "lol, he really has no business competing against women".

I'd like to thank the Daily Show for platforming Troony McTroonface and doing more to destroy whatever quasi-legitimacy arguments in favor of troons in sports might have still had than anyone else in recent memory with the exception of Will Thomas.

My thinking is that you simply can't speak up in an environment like that, no matter what. It's as deep into pro-troon territory as you can go. If someone proposes a pro-troon segment, everyone else has to clap like seals and tell them how stunning and brave they are. If the pro-troon segment gets pushback, then you just have to shake your head along with the others and mimic their complaints about how bigoted the audience is and how much more education they need. If any change comes it will consist of them gradually going quiet about it when it's no longer trendy or they get other messages from the top.

Wow, now that I know that what's printed on a legal document defines my biology, I have a lot of catching up to do! I better get screened for the amyloidosis that killed my Dad, and for early-onset Alzheimers because that runs in my Mom's side of the family. I'd better get the word out to adoptees in the same situation that we've been wrong all along, and that we have a genius like Rhys in our midst to set us all straight!

Thanks. I never had any personal interest in finding out who my biological family is, but the lack of a medical history really is a problem. There are all sorts of things (like amyloidosis, or Huntington's disease) that have a strong genetic component where early screening and treatment can really make a difference. In the US at least, insurance companies won't pay for genetic testing for conditions like that unless there is a family history, because those conditions are so rare in the general population.

I've also had younger doctors flat out argue with me and in one case straight up tell me that I was lying about not having a family medical history, because they were unfamiliar with the closed adoption practices that ended in the late 70s / early 80s. Luckily, totally closed adoptions are very rare in the US today, and in more and more jurisdictions are illegal as it is correctly seen as a human rights violation.

Needless to say, I find Troony's conflation of legal recognition with biology to be grossly offensive for reasons beyond the utter retardation of his self-serving arguments to justify cheating his way into women's sports.
