General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Unarchived Kobo. She moved or had something done to her room recently or both (can't remember) so her audio is different, if that was a sticking point before. The mizugaki voice is still a matter of taste. Mix of English, Japanese, and Indo songs. Also the subscriber counter is :story:
She built a new studio. It got delayed because of one and other things

I know that a lot of people basically hate VShojo, but honestly kson remained radioactive due to the insane Chinese antis even after she went back to being indie. Remember when Playism cancelled her appearance? So whatever I may think of VShojo (I never had any strong opinions on them really), the fact that they are willing to deal with that is a plus for me. With Rushia, it seems like her firing from Hololive was more due to cause, so while she didn't have the same problem as kson, I think she was probably lucky to be picked up by any agency. So honestly, I'm much more worried about kson and Rushia being screwed over even more than I am about them "selling out." kson is also a person who loves to work with others and was a big leader when she was with Hololive, as well as being a top talent in her own right. I think her eventually being part of another agency was almost inevitable due to that, and I suspect a lot of agencies would have done a hard pass due to not want to be targeted by her enemies. I hope she has some success from this move.
I wouldn't give VShojo any praise for hiring Kson with how "radioactive" she is in China because... who gives a shit about Vshojo outside of the US? They're desperately trying to set up a Japanese market which is part of the reason they went for Kson. Apart from that, no one cares about VShojo in the international market, so picking up someone not popular in China does literally nothing.

They've also had more than enough drama themselves, so they're fairly toxic. I'd be more worried as Kson that she is pretty much jumping on the retard ship and hoping it doesn't sink and take her with it. Half the big dramas and public meltdowns I can think of are from VShojo despite them being one of the smallest companies.

I could see them wanting Mikeneko too, especially since Mike is pretty much blacklisted by the whole community and... well, VShojo as a business is basically blacklisted by the whole community to so they might as well. Maybe it might finally convince Mike to actually stream again and not stream once every three months to membership only and then cry the rest of the time lol
Does she address the shitty reputation of the company? What on Earth made her look at Vshojo and think, "sure, that seems like a great place to work?"

Never go into business with your friends.

But at any rate, Vshojo isn't a company which will just passively help talents at worst. It's actively a detriment to be associated with that brand. Their first gen of talent is one thing since they didn't know what they were getting into, but how is a second gen even possible given what everyone knows about the place?

Sensible adult woman? Yeah, after this move I'm kinda off board with the whole idea of her being some sort of genius. She made great content and maybe that'll continue under Vshojo, but she's clearly not very smart.
Would be hilarious if she did address it, but Kson never was great as a diplomat and never seemed to directly confront issues on streams (which is kinda smart but also kinda dumb).

I knew she was friendly enough with a few of the VShojo girls but I was surprised at seeing this. Kson seemed to be doing fine enough by herself and it's not like she needed VShojo for... well, anything. It feels like they need her a lot more than she needs them. I imagine this will probably be a bad thing for Kson overall, especially if your first action as part of the company is to boot up a fucking livestream to basically explain yourself lol

I believe Vshoujo JP will work in a semi JP corpo way, like JP and THOTS will be almost but not quite separate and Kson will tardwrangle her flock and help them to step in there and make some sound in weebland

My personal rrat is that she was going to make her own company, notice it was a hassle, Vshoujo offer to give her power over the JP branch that is mostly the same on paper and she said yes

I mean, sure, I am not saying the friends is the main thing, but is there a downside to joining VShojo for her here? If there is I am not seeing it. This seems like nothing but beneficial to the two entities. Unfortunately, things are often less amusing than we hope for.
The downside is being in Vshojo. :smug:
While I do say that as a shitpost, there is a (fairly small I feel) argument to be made about being associated with them. Realistically they're a pretty solid normie crowd pleaser and as has been said I don't think most people actually give a fuck about drama on that front. They aren't familiar with the specifics of what makes people feel ways towards them.
A friend I have who has been back and forth on vtubing never seems aware of any drama happenings we bring up and mostly bounces around only some of Holo and some of Vshojo. He had no clue about any of the shit regarding Vshojo with Nux, let alone the other stuff that was far less notable or even the old Nyanners stuff.

So far if anything, Vshojo seems to be getting the minor bits of fall out. I don't recall any specifics posted here of Kson's fans or tatsunokos or anything acting too retarded, but if the translation posts were accurate Vshojo lost a clip translator or few and potentially had issues with Nyanners' artist over it? (Admittedly I don't know if that was all confirmed or not, after being posted there wasn't much follow up here.) Neither of which are particularly large losses either to be fair. KSon will bring new clippers and artists are all over the place.

Should archive these before she becomes VShojo Japan Gen 2.

Kson is building a team.
According to the translators in chat she mentioned having to do "some voice related work" and needing to get to Tokyo for it tomorrow, being gone until the 9th at least.
It's a typical rule in all streams but they seemed pretty adamant to slap the "Don't mention other people/streamers unless brought up" with an added "Don't ask if joining this or that" on as well.
So who knows. Could just be an actual voice gig but I have no clue how connected Delu is on any scenes outside of vtubing.

For all the speculation, we technically have no confirmation Mike is the other girl. Does seem likely to me and fitting but it could be either or neither. For all we know both just with one unannounced lol, translators did say Delu mentioned being sick for basically all of a month or so which pushed back whatever voice stuff she's doing.
I can only go off what I caught during the stream however since I'm not involved in the discord or fanbox.

Kson realized that there is some discomfort among fans with her announcement and is now taking question under her tweet reply., and she'll respond to it in the next stream. So far, most of the worries from JP fans (which is her core audience) are if she will move to Twitch, and if there will be less stream in YT from now on. Don't see any particular hard hitting question yet.

Edit : The stream is up.
It's always surprising to me how unpopular Twitch is in the East. I suppose that would be a major concern for them.
As far as I'm aware, Nina followed KSON but that was cut off shortly after her Russian stream way back when. Then, some time later, Rosemi followed KSON but KSON didn't follow back.

I don't recall it ever being a widespread thing across the branch.

Would be interesting to see if she is mysteriously absent from collabs given NijiEN and VShojo's friendly ties, but I don't think there's much weight to this specifically.
This in particular I suppose would be a major point of concern now for any NijiEN and Vshojo collab. Just how much will the Chinese be pissed by proxy at Vshojo just because Kson? Fucking wolf warriors man.

In other news, Yuri letting us know Phase Connect is never coming back.

Asians love Youtube, and people in the continent prefer if as much service as possible is contained within one platform and such. It's considered a hassle and way too much work to switch platforms/apps just for one specific thing

This. They never had a true open audition to begin with. Its literally just a bunch of friends disguised as "companies" so they can settle funds and merch deals easier.
"Auditions" and subsequent Data breach relating to it looks worse by the day. How many of those applicants basically had their data leaked for absolutely nothing at this point?

I could buy that, yeah. She does seem to like having groups and organising collabs. I thought she'd just work away with the indies for longer but I guess she has speedrun basically every indie Vtuber already that anyone gives a shit about.

EN fans are all retards, but JP fans are all crazy retards. In my opinion, Kson will just really need to keep the two entities separate to keep the JP fans happy. They don't like drama. They don't like their peaceful illusion of a fake virtual GF being ruined. VShojo EN is too retarded for them so I think they wouldn't want a connection.

What a shitty way to ruin a company though. Don't do business with your friends. This is why they are considered the drama company. Their upper management are retarded and all the girls have no business sense and fall over themselves anytime anything happens and react emotionally instead of as a professional organisation (you know, the whole claiming Nux's video was going to LITERALLY get them all murdered).

I totally relate lol I only watch on Youtube because I usually have it open on one of my streams. If I see someone go live, I'll click on them. I think Twitch is a terrible site so when people like Pikamee stopped streaming on Youtube as much, I totally stopped following her.

Thats fair, I'm sure Snuffy will be included in the new wave as one of their friends, considering how quickly she threw her (Unrelated and already settled) hat into the Nux drama.

Thats a really gross, really likely outcome, part of me wants them to only recruit orbiters to make it more entertaining, but the other part of me wants that risk to have had some value. That might also take the "We were worried about ourselves and our friends" thing into another/worse direction.

Reading this and the other quotes, her decision is more understandable to me. But while I get that she gets huge money from her SCs, does she have to give up 80% of her merch sales? I feel like this kind of bargain isn't good enough when her merch could sell like hotcakes. But then again, Kson doesn't have the widespread popularity someone from Holo or the big guns at Niji has so she probably thinks it's worth the risk. Then again, maybe I'm thinking this as someone who watches Niji more where they do say they get more money from merch sales since they don't have to split their shares with the company.
It still makes no sense, because not only is Vshoujo not the only option, but they are the worst option. Kson didn't have to join a "vtuber" org. She could've joined a far better talent agency that brings no bad PR to her.

Vshoujo is not giving her any bridges or opportunities that she didn't have already. Its all about sponsorships/merch/etc.

I have said it before and i will say it again, vshojo will bring forth the final yab, one day, they will shake the vtuber community to its core and the shitstorm will be amazing to watch. The more power these uncontrolled retards get, the more able they are to start catfights and massive dramafests, just look at the shithole twitch is, all of these delusional, retarded streamers are never good at keeping things calm.

People that hate VS are going to keep hating VS for their own reasons regardless of Kson. The shit company narrative comes from isolated bubbles on social media like this thread or VT or pre-formed opinions about some of their talents. In the grand scheme of things, nothing they've "done" has actually resulted in anything actually happening besides bad optics. In fact from a purely corporate point of view they are on track to grow what with their capital injection and overseas expansion.

Of course, there is a non-zero chance they will somehow implode but they've had less yabs in nearly 2 years of operations than either HL or NJ in the same time frame. Maybe if people huff more hopium they'll get to witness the Yellowstone of yabs from VS some time soon?

Kson was never an idol nor did she ever want to be one.

She also has a big indie fanbase that would be a waste to leave by joining another company and starting from scratch.

Vshojo is the perfect place for KSon to be a part of. Anyone who says otherwise is basically just hating on Vshojo
