General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Ollie with the receipts
Christ, I actually feel bad for Cannur lmao it's an entire IRL twitch chat and he lost that hard.

Imagine what these streamers must feel like seeing all these fuckin weebs lol. Apparently ProjektMelodys roommate is in attendance as well - with a voice as distinctive as hers and a fanbase as retarded I do kinda wonder if anyone will manage to dox her...the thing is that people already know what Aethel, Connor and Nyanners look like so it's not like it'd be hard to figure out that one of the few people hanging around them outside the con is probably Melody.
I know right? And Mousey seeing it coming plus doing it alongside 🚚 kun and cackling after did not help

As for mel that would be pretty interesting how do we know she is there? Is Mars?

I think it's more like it's old as balls. I watched Sakura in the late '90s - early '00s. That's 20 years ago! It's even pre-Evangelion.

EDIT: Pre-EVA at least as it was broadcasted in my country.
It's old but it could be part of peoples childhood. Suisei is rumored to be 22, and I doubt her co-host is much different so if zoomers still ahve it as part of their childhood I don't think it's weird to talk about. CCS was also a big series influencing the magical girl genre like Sailor Moon, so even it it's old it gets recommended.

Mouse talked about it on stream, not sure about Mars but Mouse was talking about the group hanging out while she was facetime-ing with them and she "heard a familiar voice" who turned out to be Mel, and she gushed for a minute about how cute her face was etc. and how much it meant to be able to put a face to the voice.

Time for the return of Ina Ross.
Anyone know of any chuubas who did streams in the older Monster Hunter games? I know Gura talked about playing 4 Ultimate back in the day, but I can't think of anyone who actually did a stream of those. Which is honestly fair, because nobody even fucking knew about Monster Hunter before World came out.

Coco mentioned having thousands of hours in Monster Hunter. But as OnionTy mentioned, the earliest game they actually streamed was Monster Hunter World. And quite a few of those streams were caught in Capcom's temporary crusade against Hololive (warranted or not).

>Niji updates (guessing they're doing baseball mascot/casting?)
Very cool teaser vid makes baseball look fun
Koushien is one of Nijisanji's biggest annual events, as well as undoubtedly their biggest annual tournament. The way it goes down is that team captains draft people (not literally, but they give their names and appearances to the baseball players) for a few rounds, which can already be chaotic in itself, then receive random extras from various branches. Then, every captain plays a season of the Eikan Nine mode in Konami's Power Pro Baseball, where they have to train their teams from scratch. Lastly, all the teams compete against one another, having to adapt to any potential fuck-ups in the training stage. Tenkai Tsukasa and Shiina Yuika are mainstays, since they're the ones who started the tradition. Someone made a full video about the event for last year, give it a watch since it tells you everything you'd wanna know.

As for who Tenkai is, he isn't from Niji, but he was briefly part of a support partnership program with Niji. He's the leader of an indie group named BANs, which groups together Vtubers with high risk of being banned, whether due to coomer material or copyright issues. In Tenkai's case, his past also indie life was Bitou Kaiji. As in, literally Kaiji. You can probably see why that'd raise copyright concerns.

Koushien pulls pretty big numbers each year, the finals apparently had ~200k viewers. Here's subs of the 2021 finals, which had a pretty wholesome moment when Kagami won thanks to Pomu's MVP performance, as she was in the hospital from that preventative breast cancer surgery. Her game-winning homerun starts at 2:17; once it happens, Kagami triumphantly shouts "I'M POMU! YOU'RE POMU! WE'RE POMU!"

She is pretty frugal with her money constering her actual income.
I think for a lot of the top vtubers these are going to be the peak income years of their life, so living well below their means to save up for things like investment in long-term passive revenue generators is a wise decision that a lot of them seem to adhere to.

When people talk about your company and always go "Oh yeah, remember that Nux thing?", it's not great.
True although I believe you overestimate how much the general population knows or cares about the nux drama then or now.

It's certainly true in places like here and /vt/ that old yabs are remembered for a very long time, the general public however which makes up the bulk of the audience, has an incredibly short attention span and memory for this stuff if they even ever become aware of it in the first place. And the majority is what's going to matter when it comes to optics.
Korone pays 80,000 yen per month for rent.
at least going by aggregate sites that's not bad if she's in the Tokyo area 1656887286239.png

It says "city center" like Tokyo was a traditionally bordered town and not an amorphous cement sprawl. It would be more accurate to include if those rent prices are Kanagawa, Chiba or Saitama.
e: For reference people don't live in "Tokyo center" the harbor and east wards, those are exclusively government, financial and business. About half the country commutes there day in and day out.
