Nothin’ gets me MATI like grifters who lean on their learned helplessness when all it would take is a little bit of effort to make a relatively large impact. Small steps like grocery money management (which has been brought up here at length) and using community resources for pet food or employment services could drastically improve her quality of life. But she just won’t do it.

I have family in Finland where the VAT is 14%.

9.5% is high in the South, but I doubt that's just for food. Where I live they also add additional 1% sale taxes to everything for maintaining the roads and to fund schools. Doubt Alabama has a soda tax a la NYC. She also has the option of food banks, but would rather not on the grounds of despising religion and feeling she is above "survival food."

One thing, food banks didn't turn down kyttie because she was "pagan". That was her own restriction she put on herself to explain why she needed ubereats instead of regular people food.

Trailers are cheap compared to other housing, so I feel like any total repairs would cost more than it would to just replace the whole damn thing. Is lumber still in shortage?

Regarding whether or not the landlord was okay with them tearing up the yard for a garden- These people have admitted on social media to trespassing onto their neighbor's property to grab shit, so I don't see them giving the "slum lord" a call to see if they can grow squashes.

So she’s technically supposed to report monetary donations over a certain amount (I dont know for SSDI, but for SSI it’s $85 a month). Most people hide under PayPal, CashApp, and like services to skirt that. Even with the new tax laws the income only applies as reportable if it’s via goods and services like a business and over a certain threshold. She can also get material donations and the government will let those slide since it’s not cold hard cash, So that could be one reason why she sticks so hard to her wishlist.
