Worked with a 18 y/o 6'0", 200+lb violent tard once. We had one gal in the section that was actually trained for his kind of case. He swung, kicked, and bit her several times. Reasons he got mad: asked to get up from floor, told to put shoes on, told he couldn't watch Barney for the session (he got Barney for reinforcement), told to say hello, and his mother asked him to help carry something. All these things he could do and he was trained to do without throwing a fit and having to be restrained, but there's not always a "reason" a tard kid will lose their shit and try to murder the entire family. Group homes don't always help and aren't always staffed with great people (another story another time).
There is an unfortunate reality with dealing with severally disabled kids growing up and it's not all "watch this and calm down" nor is it "throw money at it and fix the problem".
Well I didn't before, but I do now. This may explain some of my hip issues ...
I think it's more impressive for adults to do it cause you can literally break a kids leg in 6 places and it will heal ok, but stub your toe as adult? Might as well fucking die.
