General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I don't think that was up for debate with Syd (if she ever streams as Hime again) and Mouse in the company.
Hime Hajime is so irrelevant I forgot about her.
Why did she stopped streaming? Did she got pregnant?
Shylily joining would be fucking hilarious as Vei would seethe to end all seething
Why?

I wonder how it'll go down if the new one actually is Rushia. I mean, I can get Coco joining since it seemed like most of her fellow genmates knew she was let go under bullshit terms because China threw a bitch-fit again.
But last I heard, Rushia's genmates were pissed off at her and it sounded like she was doing some really shifty stuff, potentially causing damage to the company and her fellow genmates in return. If that's true, then I wonder if they'd be a bit annoyed that out of all of the indies that could have been picked up and given a chance, they chose the one that had a chance and tried to use it to take everyone else down too.
Genmates being upset with Rushia at least to a grand scale I think was blown out of proportion. And I also think that if they were informed by Cover themselves and got their version of the story first, it might have caused them to have the wrong gut reaction to it. Which I imagine was corrected later on to the point of Mikeneko being able to talk about it in more detail with the statement she made recently. Rushia has been getting mentioned by the members a lot recently, so her name is obviously no longer NG.

One thing that always crosses my mind however is the male elephant in the room. Whenever Vshojo invites someone in their ranks, that's one more liability that could spell disaster if they were loose-lipped. And we all know how unstable he is from his very frequent emotional dumps he leaves on Twitter.

As for kson joining, I've rationalized a bit. Considering this is an entirely new branch for Vshojo, I feel like the only way they could have persuaded kson to join is if she was given free rein to do whatever she wants with the entire branch and given full creative liberty. It is probably a lot easier to go that route in her eyes than creating something from the ground up, and a lot more cost-efficient. And her first decision was most likely to recruit Rushia, one of her closest friends in Hololive, to join her. And it isn't as much a Vshojo decision (given the enormous risks that she poses to Zentreya) but a kson one.

the short version is early on in Sylily's rise to popularity Vei heavily implied Lily was trying to sound like/mimic Vei and referred to her as basically a lesser version of herself, there's a bit more to it and a lot of seething involved but if you're interested in more just search "Vei shylily drama" or some variant on youtube, a lot more information will be found.

Here is the thing I find with Coco, what made her interesting in the first place is the idol setting and without that she is just a regular streamer you can find anywhere.

Not gonna lie after she left aside from clips where she talks about her lesbian partner PJK I barely watch her because as Kson she just isn't entertaining compared to all the other options available. It also doesn't help that she lost the straight man to her jokes being her "seiso" co-workers who gives the reaction. That's not something she can replicate with Vshojo, because they will just beat her at her own game.

The decline is apparent so I guess she decided to shake things up good for her, but I don't see this going anywhere in the long run because realistically what will this change in her content.

Coco’s appeal to me wasn’t the yabe stuff, it was how she worked really hard to get others the support and help they needed, wanting to push back against and break outdated treatment of idols in the industry, shot like that. Her dirtiness was fun too, obviously, but it what she did that made me like her. And it looks like she’s gonna be able to do that sort of thing again being in charge of VShojoJPN

This is an interesting tidbit from the Nijisanji subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nijisanji/comments/vqi2tm/tfw_u_wanna_cry_but_cant_help_but_laugh_at_the/

生前葬 in the stream title means living funeral. According to the Japanese Wikipedia, "In Japan, intellectuals with a wide range of contacts often hold it as an opportunity to announce the end of their social activities."

By the way, he's not the first VTuber to hold a living funeral.

“KSon made a sex joke! She’s stupid and I never liked her and VShojo ruined her!”

Jesus fucking Christ, grow the fuck up already. Yes, you’re free to talk about or shit on whoever you want here, but some of you just sound like jilted bitter exes. It’s just sad.
What the fuck are you even complaining about, no one said anything remotely close to your quote in those 2 pages since her tweet was posted. There were peple who think Kson made a good decision, poeple who think Kson made a bad decision, and people who don't give a shit either way. Reactions to the tweet were "lolwut", basically. I love how some people in this thread just feel the need to make up problems just to voice their opinion about them.

Coco's the same dragon that threaten to knock up Calli and invited Kiara over to inspect her bald pussy. Some of you are put her on the seiso pedestal when she literally never has been.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Hololive particular variation of coomerbait. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Tokyoite idol culture most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Marine's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- her personal philosophy draws heavily from years of fapping to low quality erotic novels involving pubescent boys, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Hololive coomerbait truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Sakamata Chloe existential catchphrase "Baku~ Baku~ Bakuuu~~" which itself is a cryptic reference to Lao Tsu chinese philosophy in the Tao Te Ching. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Kiryu Coco's genius wit unfolds itself on their YouTube tabs. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, i DO have a YAGOO tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the roommates' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of Miko's (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

If all of Coco's popularity hinged on being part of such a sterilised work environment that her South Park-tier humour was perceived as breaking new ground, then that makes criticism of her joining VShojo even more unfair. It sounds to me like people valued Coco solely as the embodiment of some kind of counter-culture to the company they had exclusively enmeshed themselves in, and not as an entity unto herself.

Certainly, people can say that Slash is a better guitarist in Guns 'n' Roses than in Velvet Revolver even if he's the same dude playing the same instrument, because industries that require cooperation between workmates inherently means that you can only tangibly be as good as the people around you. Holding that opinion is completely valid, but it's also not their problem if they don't agree with your perception of their career change in the first place.

Coco was, by one definition or another, 'forced out' of Hololive for reasons that were out of her control. A combination of bugmen cult patriotism and managerial blunders put her in a position where she felt she could no longer remain employed there. She subsequently took a break, and then moved on to a new job opportunity.

Most people would consider this a very normal thing, and yet the majority of the autism surrounding this hinges on Kson consciously 'jumping ship' from one to the other and lambasting/scrutinising her decision to do so. A grown woman's career path is no one's responsibility but hers. If it doesn't work out then it doesn't work out, if it DOES work out, then most people here are going to look just as silly as they did a few days ago when they martyred Coco only to 180 on how good she truly was now that she's in a different tribe.

Tribalfagging is some of the dumbest shit, but some people honestly liked the juxtaposition that she brough with her humor to collabs. I guess the real issue is that with the limitations, it's more fun to see people push the boundaries of what a company/rules will allow, and now that she's in VShojou, it loses its meaning because they seem pretty free to do/say as they like. People will still enjoy her brand of humor, but there are many who watch Niji/Hololive because of the way most of their talents act compared to your average streamer.

The Q&A stream Kson put up yesterday is live.
That's weird, the stream has a "No clip" rule to it

Edit:
So apparently she's not "scouted" by VShoujo, and she didn't approach them first....Kinda doesn't make sense for me, honestly. So which one is true kson? Also she decided to join VShoujo back at March, this actually increases the rrat that she wanted to join VShoujo to help No-Rushia

She said it was so people didn't take her clips out of context. She wants people to watch the whole thing. There is also a mod in chat translating.

She also said the venue she did her 3D at was owned by someone from VShojo. She claimed she wasn't scouted, she just happened to meet some staff when dealing with merch and liked what they were doing.

So basically, as expected, she wanted more behind-the-scenes support and VShojo wanted an in to the JP market. Also, this all only started in March.

I actually completely agree with the sentiment, for what it's worth.

I think having 50 members all operating within rigid boundaries, and then employing a total renegade, obviously makes them super interesting. If not for the circumstances surrounding the Taiwan shit she'd probably still be there, but the reality is that she left and she was never coming back, so I don't see how anyone could have any kind of intense feelings on her decision to move on with her life beyond 'I hope it goes well even if her content isn't for me anymore'.
