General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Depends. Covers/Originals are great money, this is why even if you're not a singing talent, you will be doing karaoke or a cover/original at one point in your corp career. The only reason Indies and small companies doesn't "enforce it/do it" is because of the cost involved. A lot of indies honestly can't afford it unless they get favors from friends or can do it themselves.
This actually made me think of kawaii who apparently give their talents an actual budget for music and art, which I guess is because they do have some sort of direction they want to steer their talents towards + having a successfully backed kickstarter recently for their idol project.

It does give them more of an incentive to produce covers/originals when your agency actually does shit like that for you. As well, being given a clear direction of where they want things to go helps a lot. It also makes me wonder what direction do the other agencies want to take with their talents.

Yeah, now that you mentioned it, it kinda be like that
Honestly, I still think KSon made a mistake here. Everything sounds perfect for her, she should have thought that there will be a catch somewhere down the line. Either she's too naive about it, or she's just desperate for some corpo/bts support
It's certainly possible but I think it's worth remembering that KSon knows far more about vtubing than any of us. For example, as much as fans can talk about whether it is better to be under Hololive or VShojo (or anyone else, but those are the two relevant agencies here), we haven't read the contracts. KSon has.

Unless KSon is an idiot - which I don't think she is - she will have weighed the pros and cons before coming to a decision. It's possible that she made the wrong decision, but I am willing to bet that she didn't given that her decision was better informed than any of the speculation here.

This is like the current situation in F1, the top 3 are just way ahead the others can't play catch-up and just compete with other midfield/backbenchers. Also I didn't know the gap between Maha5 and NijiID is that big. Is NijiID okay?
I mean, NijiID doesn't exist anymore.

Speaking of ID, what the fuck ever happened to Hanna Macchia? I remember watching her way back when, and I remember her doing pretty well, but I recently I got a stream of hers in my recommended and she had like 300ccv. Ended up looking into other stats, and she's doing worse than half of Phase Connect by all metrics except subs and VOD views.
You have to ask @Hanna Macchia's Dad for this
How cozy can this sheep get?

You know what Pippa is buying!

They can do that because they're small. Once they grow big enough to get big sponsorship do you honestly believe they will continue that?
Idk if the girls in PC are really that controversial or liability for potential sponsors. Yeah Pippa does some racey things, but I don't think she would have negative effect on the company. I mean PC is already kinda pulling her away from the killstream sphere or whatever with being direct on mentioning individuals and silencing discussion from anything in those areas.

I guess a question I got now with gen 2 coming out soon, is do you think any of the new girls is gonna be as wacky as Pippa? Or is it too early to say that now till debut?

Pippa tax:
Pippa in a alternate universe also if you're reading this you're gay and don't dm me.jpg

Maybe "seiso" isn't exactly what I was looking for, and I'll admit there's some kind of spectrum of seisoness even inside hololive (i.e. sora > gura > matsuri).
But check other companies like PC, which is the one I'm most involved with. They walk a fine line between "seiso" and poopoo peepee all the time, not really staying on either side for too long.
The thing about PC is that they don't market themselves as Idoru so there is no real expectation of seiso to begin with (well I only watch 2.5, so I am happy to concede this point).
Now imagine talents like Gura or Watson without the JP limiters BUT with the backing of a corporation behind them.
We don't have to imagine we already know it to some extend. Let me ask you: have you watched some of senzawa or sachi old twitch vods ? Are they of higher quality than their current content? If you think they are better, are they a bit better or much better? Why were they better, because of no limiter drunk?
I think for sachi that her content now is better than it was before.

PC tard-wrangling Pippa away from mentioning incredibly litigious and overall extremely toxic tards is the best thing they've done tbh

She still laughs at minor lolcows (sometimes even interviewing them, :tomgirl: ) and gets to make her jokes without danger of a ragepig striking her down and dragging PC into autistic internet drama

Plus her expanding circle of friends is kino and they're all good streamers in their own ways imho

Only the manliest of man can use this merchandise, are you man enough to wear sheep merchandising and save the president?

Is still to debate if the PS2 version is better for the 3D Graphics and the Redbook ost but i approve this meme
PS2 version is better. The DS art and graphics style worked for IV but it really hurt the mood of V and especially VI. Also not a fan of Deborah so there's that.

Hopefully she'll let chat direct her to some energy tanks, I think she's still on 4+1 and almost at Draygon's door, which is going to be rough even if you cheese it.

EDIT: Apparently it's only her save that's vanished, the one she preserved from the original owner of the cartridge is still there - so it's not battery.
EDIT2: It vanished too so it's most likely the battery after all. It's Heretic time now.
EDIT3: On episode 2 of Heretic, her save corrupted. It's a cursed day apparently.
EDIT4: It kept bothering Amiya to the point of obviously crying because she was afraid of not meeting expectations of her viewers and the day apparently has been going badly for her before. Chat managed to cheer her up a bit but she's still bothered by it if her closing remarks and Twitter apology are any indicator.

It's possible that part of this is because she went on a brief tangent about her numbers not rising as rapidly as projected despite the amount of effort she put into her channel and especially music. She quickly backpedalled on that though. As far as I'm concerned it wasn't numberfagging on her part, just oversharing her worries because of her mental state. Even /tsun/, the Tsunderia general thread on /vt/, seemed to agree that it was understandable.
