General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

She was about to start crying. Good thing chat managed to slightly raise her spirits with goofy antics.
Yeah she's doing a lot better now, nice that chat cheered her up from sadness. Crab snorting is back on schedule!

I could easily work up a save file for her if she doesn't mind finishing on emulator, but I feel her pain. Hopefully she has fun with Heretic instead today
I think she'll personally put it on back burner and play on her off time to the point. Although, she might always change her mind with backtracking and use a buckos save.

Ami kinda talked about it on stream but i'm kinda surprised how much some of the girsl cardboard cutouts are going for from AX. Pippa I think went for $350 while Uruka went for $1250! I guess some people really have passion for their Oshi's!

Call me cynical but I don't think a company gets 11 million dollars in venture capital and keeps their previous corporate culture.
There are plenty of stories about tech companies completely changing after they started getting venture capital, partly because future VC is held over the executives' heads and investors demand sweeping changes to minimize waste and maximize profit.

Whatever sweetheart deals Vshojo has with talent will eventually change and thinking it won't is wishful thinking.

That is so obvious, it goes without saying. It's called strings attached.

They keep 100% of their IP though so there's literally fucking nothing they can do about it.

VShojo is beholden to the members because the members are just Indies who gave them the merchandising rights. If they start trying to implement some kind of regime change they do so at the risk of losing literally all of their members, who can very easily peel off and remain themselves.

Are you ready for Office/Science lady Tenma?

I guess a question I got now with gen 2 coming out soon, is do you think any of the new girls is gonna be as wacky as Pippa? Or is it too early to say that now till debut?
From what I have seen, they seem to be somewhere between Lia and Yuri. Not as edgy as Pippa or Lumi unless they are saving it until after they debut.

Pippa's and Tenma's one went for around $600 each I believe, on Offkai.

1250, I bet it was a Chinese dude.

I mean technically that's kinda like what Machinima was originally and look where that ended up....

No matter what even if a company originally started as just a group of a couple friends with their own separate IP's the moment you go corporate and expand plus get investors is the moment things change fundamentally. The Creatures was a group of friends with their own privately owned channels and they ended up breaking up due to disagreements about taking the group into a more corporate direction. The most popular members left, Kootra the head of the group went ahead and transformed it into an official company, got more content creators to fill the roster which didn't work out and the company eventually petered out until it disbanded.

People just feel like it's wishful thinking to expect Vshojo is going to stay the same especially if they plan to expand further as an Agency.

"We got bought out by big investors, but nothing will change, we'll stay the exact same" is like the strongest fucking death flag imaginable.
And if just The Creatures aren't proof enough, there's every other group RoosterTeeth picked up, and RT themselves is proof of this. Every single one started off as a group of friends doing friend shit, got hugely successful, then went corporate, and either died instantly, or is barely struggling along right now.

I thought emulators were perfectly legal if you own an actual copy of the game as well?
This was more community made since you technically don't even own the game you bought if you read those pesky terms, you basically bought the rights to "use it" lol. It's just one of those weird areas of the law that you'd not look twice at since logically you can do whatever you want with your own stuff, it's just a problem when you distribute or make copies (roms/isos etc.) This is why its stricter in Japan because there's already redistribution laws that are enforced and they dislike hardware modding/reverse engineering because of the bad you could do with it rather than looking at what it could to (since its not bad to mod a system aside the obvious bs you can do.) So emulators, while not bad in itself are seen as a method of playing distributed content outside of company use (companies have their own emus, sometimes utilizing open-source ones on the net.)

Some in the thread still seem to think it won't, but it will happen
It's not that we think it's impossible, just that people acting as if they know more about what VShojo's internal business than KSon or any of the other members who actually are a part of VShojo and predicting their downfall/splintering/final yab/whatever comes off as strong copium.

It's the old adage, "don't work with friends or family". More often than not, it ended up being true

“KSon made a sex joke! She’s stupid and I never liked her and VShojo ruined her!”

Jesus fucking Christ, grow the fuck up already. Yes, you’re free to talk about or shit on whoever you want here, but some of you just sound like jilted bitter exes. It’s just sad.
These 2 took the words from my mouth:
What the fuck are you even complaining about, no one said anything remotely close to your quote in those 2 pages since her tweet was posted. There were peple who think Kson made a good decision, poeple who think Kson made a bad decision, and people who don't give a shit either way. Reactions to the tweet were "lolwut", basically. I love how some people in this thread just feel the need to make up problems just to voice their opinion about them.
But... That's basically what people are doing? They just add on an additional "... and this is why it isn't for me anymore" for the sake of discussion - which is making people lose their minds for some reason. I've noticed basically nothing can be discussed in this thread without people finding it problematic in one way or another. Makes me wonder what the point of the thread even is. Just sharing funny clips? Surely there are better venues for that.
Its not a surprise anymore that when you decide to appear here most of the time you complain & try to tardwrangle the opinions of the thread that bothers you. At this point the best its just to ignore your complaints from now on because as long as these opinions doesnt break the thread or kiwi rules, doesnt matter if you dont like it, they will keep coming.

Anyways here is my clip tax:
