why would they do that when they could just give them a bunch of medication they spent billions of dollars researching, developing, testing, and then creating the guidelines for treatment and the legislation for their usage? big pharma makes infinitely more money off of the extremely humane and definitely ethical modern medical apparatus than the cruel and inhumane dark days of medicine when they gave people pills that sterilize them and performed experimental surgeries

Anyone else find it odd the police are so hush hush about the gun used? They keep saying rifle and say it was similar to an ar15. If I recall, I believe AR15 clones are not legal in Illinois so I am thinking either the pistol variant or they are calling something like a mini 14 or an sks an ar15.

Takes time to build up is only a saying people use with anti-depressants. That's a red flag.

But overall the efficacy of mental health treatment is in the shitter and I don't think it's cause nobody ever thought to go to counseling to talk about their feelings.

No, he gave me one article that doesn't even explain his reasoning for thinking that therapy was as effective as accupuncture. You can find scientific articles and papers that state literally anything, but it means absolutely nothing without consensus. You... do know how the scientific process works, right?

The paper he sent doesn't even follow with his claim. It's specifically about poor research methods. It doesn't claim "psychiatric drugs don't do anything beneficial". My response (saying that the claim "psychiatric drugs are just placebos" is dumb as fuck) was regarding his apparent interpretation of the article.
