refute any of the points in the article I posted
I'm really not sure why you - a person who maintains that sex is different from gender, and gender is a social construct-0 would bother posting an article about sex, in order to defend your claim that you are transgender.
Sex article literally has nothing to do with transgenderism, per your own belief system.
But OK! I'll run through the article for you, and maybe you can get something out of this?
Again, this is the article, for anyone else who wants to follow along, and maybe anticipate where I'm going with this:
https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/voices/stop-using-phony-science-to-justify-transphobia/
First off, the article is a) a blogpost, and b) from Scientific American. i.e. it is
not a scientific article. Contrary to popular misconception, SciAm is not a scientific publication; it's (notoriously problematic, to the point of being a meme) pop science. Please note, too, that the article you posted is from the
Voices section, and is by an author with
exactly one credit to her name; i.e. it's an OpEd piece. For future reference: be very careful when trying to cite SciAm (let alone SciAm OpEds), as the yahoos responsible for the SciAm blogs are rarely (if ever?) even trained in the disciplines they are writing about.
Which seems to be the case with Simóne D, or whoever she (?) is, because she begins by citing "middleschool biology" regarding how XX and XY chromosomes define sex - when in fact,
real biologists do not use chromosomes to define sex. Simóne D likely hasn't taken a biology class since middleschool, because if she had, she might have known that
sex is defined by gametes (i.e. whether your body naturally produces sperm, or naturally produces eggs). There's not really anything to "refute" here;
it's just the way biology works. Simóne is stupid and badly educated, who would have guessed. SciAm blog post, remember?
Next, it is incorrect to state that "sex can change". Yes, it's
possible for certain biological functions to fuck up and produce horrible, disgusting, usually sterile mutants who fall outside the normal boundaries of "male XY sperm producers" and "female XX womb and egg machines"; these individuals are sometimes known as
intersex or
abominations or
@Miss Tommie Jayne Wasserberg . But here's the thing - if something DOES fuck up, it fucks up early in your tiny, fetal, no-longer-abortable-thanks-to-SCOTUS development.
By the time you're born, you're pretty much locked in - you're either male, or you're female, or once in a great long while, you're a filthy hippie dog and/or child fucker. And that's it,
that's how you stay (until one day they find your male bones etc); you can't "change" your sex like you can change your socks, or change your hair, or change your dumb catboy anime avatar. It's as intrinsic and immutable as, say, the colour of your skin, or your manly jawline and rapidly balding head.
The last section - testosterone and estrogen - is just silly; too silly to refute, really.
No biologist ever said that males only produce testosterone, and females only produce estrogen, nor that levels of hormone production remain static in all individuals, all the time. This is what is known, in the world of critical thinking and rational argumentation, as
a straw man - a weak position, that is falsely attributed to one's opposition, in order to present the illusion that a serious rebutal of the opposition has taken place. e.g.
"
@Cauchy is a big fat dog fucker who wants to fuck dogs. That's insane! It's insane for a human to want to fuck dogs! Therefore, everything
@Cauchy says is insane, and we should throw him in a river, because dog fucker."
You see the problem? If you have NOT claimed to be a big fat dog fucker who wants to fuck dogs, it is not your position; it's a straw man, and thus, not worth rebutting (or can be rebutted, simply by pointing out "I never said that! I,
@Cauchy , don't want to fuck dogs; I only want to children."
Or whatever it is you want to do, you crazy tranny dog ducker.
tl;dr the only question you need to ask yourself is:
has my body had the natural capacity to produce eggs?
If you not, you are not a woman, and you never will be. Sorry!
But hey, maybe if you spend enough money, someone will chop your penis off for you...?
