Community Quiverfull Movement Lolcows - Starring the Duggars

They've existed long before Francis. Many of them believe Vatican II is invalid and every Pope since is illegitimate (so called sedevacantists), and the tradcath movement in general is attached to things like the traditional Tridentine Mass. The current movement of mostly tards lacks any of the intellectual rigor of the older traditional Catholics like the Society of St. Pius X who could at least explain how they were actually traditional Catholics.

Just because someone calls themselves tradcath doesn't mean they actually are (like the obviously gay Nick Fuentes).
Just seconding this. There are always more traditional factions of every religion, but these are specifically Catholics who reject Vat 2. It’s not just a reaction to a “woke pope” though that might be the reason for the influencer class.

I think Mel Gibson is one of these?

I think Mel Gibson is one of these?
His father definitely was one, and his particular focus in his religious works like The Passion of the Christ strongly suggests he is at well, philosophically if not actually. He funded his father's Holy Family church to the tune of $70 million. His father Hutton Gibson was an outright sedevacantist (the more extreme form of traditional), and a lolcow in his own right.

Fun fact: he was the 1968 Jeopardy! champion and lived to be 101.

He had a way of turning a phrase, though, and could get outright Francis E. Dec-ian in his rages.

Look him up for some excellent religious shitposting.

Incels who want to enforce forced pregnancy to punish women for not fucking them
I mean, to defend them - the Catholics went from a beautiful service in high Latin and an unbroken history stretching back 1000s of years - to the fucking Jesuits and guitar solos.

God, have you seen modern Catholic Church construction? Absolutely depressing.

Well it's a surefire way to make sure you get a lot of poontang. Plus there's the power trip of marrying off your 12 daughters to men you chose. And since your wife is gonna push kids out until menopause you have a few more in the pipeline.

For as much as fundies claim to love children when we're talking about embryos, they sure as fuck always end up being horribly abusive/negligent to any kids they have that gets beyond the fetus stage.

What's the latest Pest can push his sentencing back? I'd think he can't just do it indefinitely.
Hypocritical fundies give childless people so much shit for not wanting children and call them selfish yet they give birth to thirteen children they can barely afford to take care of. I think it's because deep down, they wish they never had children and if they didn't blindlly adhere to the religion, they'd have no children.

Evangelicals/Fundies truly are not fond of children. They rank children very low in their list of priorities below God and their spouses/marriage. I think they only have them out of a obligence rather than an actual desire to have them. Fundies may say "children are a blessing from god" and "bundles of joy", but it's the exact opposite to how they truly feel. You'll see tons of articles on fundy sites like Focus on the Family and FamilyLife talking about how children destroy marriages, get in the away of the parents' relationships, and steal away romance.

I feel sorry for their children.

It also sucks for women who are childless not by choice whether they couldn't find a suitable husband or they are infertile among other reasons. A lot of them think that it is somehow their fault they are childless or people are like "Why don't you adopt?" without realizing how rigorous the approval process is as well as how expensive it is. Childless women in those communities are often forced to take care of their aging parents and younger siblings and often not treated like adults compared to married women. As for men, well, it reminds me of a quote Brigham Young said once in that unmarried men over the age of 25 are a menace to society and they are also infantilized and treated like lesser men for not having a wife.

If they are childless because they are disabled, it is also very unlikely they will get the proper education and assistive devices needed to live to their full potential. They may even be less likely to marry compared to their secular disabled peers as a result depending on the nature of the disability.

Since he'll likely be secluded from the general population none of these guys can beat his ass for making them do extra work so the place looks fancy for a celebrity kiddie diddler.
It sounds like the guys on the tape did the same stuff, so I don’t think they’ll be administering beat downs.
Let’s pray for some wholesome meth dealers and Aryans to administer true justice.

The Jesuits have been around a lot longer than Vatican II. Changing the mass was a good move, IMHO, I think worshippers deserve to know what is being said and what they are praying for and saying the mass in the local language is a lot cheaper than teaching everyone Latin.

I do agree that the modern style some Catholic Churches go for are cringey AF. One in my area had stained glass in a plant/leaf/vine pattern and that was IT. No saints. No angels. No biblical stories. Just leaves. The best parts of old school Catholicism were the aesthetics. Some of those old popes and cardinals and such had some seriously awesome taste in clothes, art, and architecture. It'e partly why that year's Met Gala with the Catholic theme was so good. That sort of shit is near impossible to fuck up

Having read many a Christian life manual for women back in the day, I can confirm this. There are certain telltale signs I've begun to notice with Christian writers (particularly female writers) who secretly can't stand their children. Often, they will devote multiple chapters to talking about how when they were younger and more free-spirited, they couldn't stand being around children, didn't want kids, and thought they would make a horrible parent... But then the Lord taught them to be humble and submissive, and shaped them into a parent! (Insert corny statement about God laughing when you tell Him your plans.)

They'll often talk at length about how frustrating and challenging their kids are/were; how God used them to teach them patience and kindness, and make them better people. They'll often include an anecdote about how their kids grew up to be obedient and godly people, and how they make them proud every day. Rarely do any of them talk about their children with affectionate, loving language; if they do, it almost seems to be an afterthought.

One particular example has stuck with me: the author Stormy Omartian, who was abused by her own, mentally ill mother as a child, admits outright that she never wanted kids; she claimed that she only had kids because God ordered her to do so, and admitted to hitting and screaming at her daughter when she was a baby. This was because, according to her, God needed her to have a daughter of her own, to teach her patience and how to break the cycle of abuse and forgive her own mother. Was the daughter hurt? Did she suffer any permanent psychological damage? Who cares! Her mom got the healing she needed, and that's the most important thing!

People NEVER in history needed to learn Latin. It's called carrying a Missal and my wife even had to bring one as a child to mass. There's a Catholic church in my blue shithole that offers Latin mass and those people use Missals. This was the case going back to the time of the Romans.

For a long, long time, many people were not literate, even with Catholics trying their best to educate everyone.

Anyway, I think there's a world of difference between tradcaths and this new breed on Conservative American Catholics who are basically just anti-Francis. From what I've seen the second group barely seem Catholic at all. Especially the ones who got all mad when Francis said billionaires should pay taxes. I don't get why they don't just convert to some kind of rapture-believing, poor-hating, prosperity gospel garbage church if that's what they really want.

The insanely sexist double standards and burdens placed on women in Evangelical/Fundie communities are so creepy and uncomfortable to witness. Women in fundie communities are expected to be flawless robots for emotionally unavailable husband and provide them sex and emotional labour whilst they never lift a finger with the household tasks. They have to be amazing mothers, wives, and homemakers whilst being available 24/7 for their hubbies who do jack shit to support them. Women must never say no their man for anything, especially for sex, and their husband can degrade them as much as they please.

Husband not helping you rear the kids? You're neglecting the marriage! Be a wife first and mother second!

Want some help around the house? Forget it! Your poor husband has been working all day on the dole and you have the NERVE to ask him! So ungrateful!

The sort of environment and mindset of the community creates a cycle of domestic abuse and resentment. Then we have the likes of abusive nutcases such as Lori Alexander wondering why people are drifting away from their "teachings". :stress:

Maybe it would in some ways be worth it if he had a good job. But then there are people like Jildo who shill for a chronically unemployed goblino who has never worked a real job in his life and eats all the food meant for her horde of child servants. Even men in some traditional cultures are expected to know how to cook. Like Cajuns.
