Then the whole class applauded.

I'm not sure if the quote is real, but the quote doesn't represent a necessarily fringe opinion, it's just being used in the wrong way.

Classical nudes have been under criticism for decades, even by other artists (for examples, see "The Luncheon on the Grass" and "Olympia" by Edouard Manet, won't sperg that much but it's a well researched topic). The quote is stupid to use in this context, however, because it's saying that a selfie has the same amount of impact as a masterfully crafted piece of artwork. I still don't quite understand why tumblr keeps trying to turn selfies into a movement.

Nobody in academia gives a shit about your Instagram, I promise.

A very good point and one I agree with, I should have been more clear about that. I simply wanted to show that tensions in the appreciation of nude bodies, like other beautiful objects, often have religious and moral connotations that are far more complex than given credit for, and often related to religious dilemmas that are further from the modern viewer.

The Tumblr understanding of it is, however, just as bad as the view they criticize (of course). Sexy image created by a woman? EMPOWERING. Sexy image created by a man? MALE GAZE.

I didn't get a response when I asked so maybe one of you can tell me, why would an asexual be interested in a porn comic, why would you draw porn of a character who is not interested in sex?

I haven't been following Kilo as closely as I used to. Her claiming to be asexual is news to me.

I'm just as baffled as you guys are.

Kilomonster? Seriously? I remember not two years ago she was obsessing over big burly men and never did anything to hide her attraction to such. Asexual my ass. This considered it's pretty easy to guess why she'd be drawing porn. Probably got too deep in the label but oops, gotta brand it as "asexual" porn to not lose her new audience.

It's always a shame when genuinely talented artists get pulled over to the dark side.

Asexual porn? Isn't that that kinkshaming meme shit on tumblr?

Next, it'll be that genitals have no effect on gender, and if you think they (generally) do you're an awful shitlord.
That's.. actually a long standing belief with a lot of these tumblr tards, "DICKS CAN BE GIRL BITS TOO, BIOLOGICAL GENDER IS A FAKE CONCEPT!"

I decided to snoop around the various typo "do not reblog" tags tumblrinas like to use to avoid getting their posts reblogged by "do not reblog" blogs. I found a lot of cry typing and drama.

Who are these exceptional individuals in the second set of screenshots?

The Eli person seems to have deleted their blog, so I'm not too sure about who they were other than a "system" or something.
The Lain/Dray person is an 18 year old autistic goth dragon, a system (with various kintypes for each alter), and a "dependent, avoidant, luck god". She uses "it" pronouns and claims to be an agenderboy. She's extremely tumblr, but I'm not entirely sure if she's bizarre enough to warrant an entire thread.

Archive for her about
Archive for her system page

And here's her "queer platonic partner". I haven't gone through that blog yet, but I'm sure it's just as exceptional.

I like how both people in the skype convo are crytyping and it gets progressively worse and worse, like they're trying to outdo and guilt trip each other more and more with each reply.

Your comment on guilt tripping seems really on point with these children. "You oppress me!" "No! You oppress me!" And it's slightly creepy to see this as a form of "arguing" between teens. When they run into adults, who have no time for such bullshit, they can't seem to function.

Most will grow out of it, but I wonder how this will stunt their emotional growth in the future-even unconsciously.

They completely lose the ability to hit the space bar at some point, too.

I got a reply and it's about what I expected. I'm pretty annoyed that Kilo specifically stated she wanted to make a porn anthology for asexuals and somehow didn't piece together that a regular comic can have sex in it without it coming off as really fetishy.

I'm genuinely curious how this project is going to be any different from the loads and loads of porn that this supposedly asexual individual drawn in the past.

It's not going to be any different.

Yeah, that's sort of a trait of tumblr asexuals and tumblr in general. Any writer can tell you how to do sex without it being porn or smut and any adult can easily tell the difference between a story having some sex in it and porn.
