That's something that sticks out in my mind about Trump. The man made his billions via real estate in New York City. Surely, there has to be something on him? Either he he's beyond phenomenal in hiding it or he is just that clean. I don't know which of those two prospects I find more believable.

2. He's dirty, and really good at hiding it. ( Possible. They've used the FBI to investigate him, but we all know how useful they are. )

I'm genuinely leaning towards 1, with the caveat of "anything serious". I do not see a world in which they wouldn't be willing to sacrifice a few people to the fires of controversy to make 3 happen. I'm sure Trump has some trivial stuff in his closet along the lines of his tax investigations and "Well maybe if we REALLY twist a few pieces to the worst possible interpretation", ala his lawyer. Trying to nail him for those would be counter productive, he'll proudly own abusing the tax loopholes and how that means he's best to close them, and if he's caught for some shady land sales in the 90's, he'll shrug and say "Hey the 90's in NYC were wild times we all got up to some weird stuff" and the crowd will laugh along with him. Turns out when you spend decades advocating "Do crime, fuck the man", people start to see minor lawbreaking and fuckery as commendable.

What I've heard of Trump's business stuff is normal builder things, he goes for the cheapest material (Trump Tower's apartments had shit wood floors), cuts corners on non essential things, promises things that can't aren't budgetarily possible. And he fucked up Atlantic City by being too bullish right when Vegas started to target families and clean itself up which made NJ look like a shit(tier) place. But I've also heard from many people Mar A Lago who've both been to weddings and played golf there that it's one of the best places they've ever been to and that it ruins you like flying a private jet.

This was brought up the last time Biden resorted to draining reserves for short-term price relief. You kinda have to flood the market for the resulting increase in global supply to drive down prices, and doing the work to only sell the oil to Americans would create perverse incentives that doesn't actually contribute to the goal of lowering prices. Like individual citizens and companies buying up the gas now that it's domestically cheaper and selling it abroad in a secondary market.
