General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

It would be funny if the reason there isn't any news about VShoujo audition is they still haven't find people that fit their standard, just like (allegedly) Niji and Holo

I mean, most people know Holo and Niji have certain standards that immediately disqualify most indie VTubers. And those said people would then try their fortune at VShoujo instead. What if none of that people even meet VShoujo's standard?
Wtf kind of standard do they have when Hime exists and is literally not there 95% of the time. At least Ayame was around for a while in the beginning for Hololive and is basically available for any Hologra. Sana somehow has a better track record of streaming than Hime does ffs and she had a back injury.

Kson didn't audition for VShojo - in her Q&A stream she said that she happened to need something that was tied with someone who worked there (no specifics given, but she had just mentioned her pop-up store and Comiket booth), her manager exchanged business cards with them, and it escalated from there. She said she joined back in March - I guess it's not unreasonable to assume that Kson put Mikeneko in touch with them at a later date.

It seems like Anny's audition process ended around May 3rd (tweet) (archive) so it's hard to say whether that was actually related to Kson - unless it was around the same time that they got Mikeneko on board as well. Apparently Ironmouse has also hinted that there are still more members on the way, so this post could just be a waste of time.

I recently watched a clip of Iofi and I honestly can't remember a damn thing because I could only stare at her face tracking. Cover really does need to give some people upgrades and I have no idea why they struggle with tech/software when that was the original focus of the company.

Imagine thinking Vshojo auditions are genuine after Kson/Rushia get in but no one else. It's even worse when you remember the Nux drama, imagine getting doxxed/scammed just for a contest you had literally no chance of winning.

To be fair to the girl, Veibae would probably hate her for her voice.

I am pretty sure she just didn't pass, which I do get being really hurt by since 1) she seems to have made it to round 3 and 2) it took almost an either year to tell her that. So it's still ridiculous, but probably for nepotism reasons rather than it all being a lie.

This is such a cool name for a new gen if that's what this is. For anything really.

So, place your bets, were the auditions real, or are we just gonna get 3-4 more people who know the current members personally?
The auditions were real, but they had no plans to accept anyone but existing big streamers + cases of nepotism and friends. Essentially a public announcement asking that group to apply.
It is not unheard of in the job market, where positions are announced open for PR or legal reasons but have someone specific chosen for them already.

There is literally no difference between it being a lie, and Vshojo just going for nepotism. In both cases people applied to something where it was predetermined who would win, and it wouldn't be them. This is after they fumbled around about notifying people of a scam and shat on Nux for warning people. It's just not a good look and even if people say "Ah well they hinted they hire more people" it doesn't really cover things because it happens after a backlash.

Kson said the date was around March right? and the Rushia stuff happened around that time. So why the fuck is there a Rushia and Kson debut in a matter of months while auditions have been going on for around a year? You can't even use model commissions as an excuse since Not-Rushia has a new model (not to be confused with her other new model). It just looks shady that auditions last a year, bring security risks and then 2 other big talents can be announced within around 4 months.

I'm going to laugh if the next member of Vshojo is someone like Juniper who's already cultivated a big audience.

Oh, I know. Nothing hurt me more than trying to read my chicken scratch so I could continue in Metroid.
Took me years to realise the scribbles I wrote decades ago when writing down passwords were hiragana.
Out of curiosity, what are some people's favorite Birthday/Anniversary/Special Event lives, and maybe specific songs during them? Partly just want to see if I missed any great ones. I'll exclude anything from Watame since she's my oshi.
SuiAZ's Inochi from Suisei's 500k celebration. She entered Inonaka during the exhibition and sang Inochi as well (both times brought to tears) and it's great she got AZKi to sing with her during her celebration knowing their history. It's also an emotional song about the life of a Vtuber and when she was tearing up just shows how much it means considering her career.

MaiR is singing on her birthday. Don't ask why she has a Christmas cake on Tanabata.
