I'd expect to see a few bots or people mistyping on the phone app. I've seen a fair number of videos over the past week with thousands of likes and no downvotes. I suspect YouTube is experimentally kludging something that zeroes out the downvotes without actually making the fundamental changes under the hood they said they were going to implement.

If you are using the extension to return the dislike then it's using it's own api and dataset. It's more likely the data hasn't been pushed out or simply the relatively small userbase(2mil on chrome and 300k on firefox) hasn't downvoted it.

The extension collects the video ID of the video you are watching, fetches the dislike (and other fields like views, likes etc) using our API. The extension then displays the dislike count and ratio on the page. If you like or dislike a video, that is recorded and sent to the database so an accurate dislike count can be extrapolated.

I believe it... not the "it was a mistake" part, but the bot automatically flagging something.

Sites like Twitter and YouTube like to pull that kind of bullshit on popular accounts, niche or otherwise, especially if they are testing something new. They will SAY it was a mistake, but in reality what they did was a "warning" for said account to stop posting something that either goes agains tthe narrative, or pisses some danglehair off, or even showing the truth. Then like a week to a month they will either publicly or quietly announce the new additions or changes they made to their entire system and list "to combat hate speech" or some other vague nonsense as an excuse.

At this point, sites like Twitter is just "bots featuring real people" rather than the other way around.

My dorm went there to do the paint thing as a floor in college. The reason the dude was attracted to that statue specifically, when he went combing through what I'm sure was a wide array of available Lenin statues post-1991, is because it's one of the rare ones where he's wearing a more military getup, rather than being depicted as some kind of austere philosopher or scholar. He considers it the more honest way to portray Lenin and his legacy as a dictator.
Really, Stalin was the best thing that happened to Lenin's historical reputation among the general public, as he tends to overshadow Lenin's brutality by comparison. But the only reason that's the case is because Lenin stroked out too early to actually have decades upon decades of brutal autocratic rule under his belt, not because he didn't intend it.

David Hines is great. His work to try to educate the right on what work when it comes to fighting the political fight endears me to him. The fact that he heavily studies the left and their tactics/strategies/operational awareness and then tries to get the right to apply at least some of the techniques makes him a rare breed indeed.

He is one of about a dozen people I know of who is actively working on getting the right to fight smarter. Of those, well over half come from traditional leftist background (labor unions mostly.), and the other half is made up of righties who finally decided it was time to figure out how the left does it.

To say that the average rightist organizers understanding of Power Politics and Pressure Campaigns is underdeveloped is a massive understatement.

The right also does this to themselves. How many time have we heard that public pressure campaigns are un-conservative? How many times have we heard that an organization "glows" even if it is just three grandma's and their dog? The right hates to see the right organize and be successful. Which is ironic that side which supposedly values natural order hierarchies hates applying them.
