An excruciating, SEVERE
(I'm sorry, I'm being serious here but I can't resist) headache that comes on without warning or provocation and peaks within a few minutes is often referred to as a "
thunderclap" headache, and it can be an indication of something
very bad happening in or near your brain, including a ruptured aneurysm. If you suddenly experience the worst headache of your life, you need to go to the emergency room. I promise they won't judge you.
Time is of the essence when your brain is broken. There's a saying, "Time is brain", and it's literally true. The longer the brain is deprived of oxygenated blood, the more cells die. The brain is
pretty terrible at self-repair, and the vast majority of
neurons that die cannot be replaced.
