Here are my predictions:
-Depressed neet looking for 5 minutes of fame by taking out an unprotected relevant figure.
-Angry ex-army who did it out of spite
-China-groomed commie who attacked as a blow to the japanese gov.
-Loonie schizo who just felt like doing so because he's a fucking loonie who needed no motive or reason and just wanted to do it.

With the guy on the left it looks like they're chasing a purse-snatcher.

Holy shit he's levitating!

5. He wanted to fuck 2D waifus, not real women like Abe was advocating for.

All four at once? Oswald was arguably all four (and more) when you think about it.
"We will not forgive the person who shot Abe, and we do not need any more evidence to find him guilty. He is now a ward of the state." - Prime Minister's Office of Japan
Now that is some striking wording. But translations for Oriental languages often sound a bit off and wooden as we were seeing earlier. Any thoughts from people who know better than I do?

I'm thinking the guy is a political extremist of some kind. Him being a commie makes sense. I can also see a far-right ultranationalist doing this but it's slightly less likely.

If he really is former JSDF, then that would probably rule out the NEET theory. It could explain how he got ammo for a homemade weapon.

TLDR - My guess is he's a wackjob political sperg or maybe he just went schizo.

It is japan so old-fashioned apolitical schizo snapping could very well be

I'm surprised the cops didn't just kill him right then and there. I won't be surprised if he's executed live on television in an extremely gruesome way.
Execution is by hanging in Japan and they get no notice of when their day is. Just any given day the door opens and they get led to the noose. So I imagine that's quite the mental torture knowing it's bound to happen and waking up every day fearing it might just be that day.

This guy's gonna swing from a rope but with Japan being so privacy autistic I'd bet it would be impossible to televise regardless of how much people might want it to be.

Why would they kill him on the spot? It's not like he was about to commit a mass shooting with that thing. Is it not more advantageous to arrest and interrogate to find out if he is part of an organised ring?

Never say never!

I was being hyperbolic.

Most significantly, you lose the right to privacy; Japanese police can visit your home at any time to inspect your firearms (one of which is that your ammo and gun is kept in a non-portable safe drilled into the residence).

The police might start to raid all the homes of people with registered firearms.
A screwed up turn of events as people who tend to get registered are less likely to start shit. But we have seen gun violence happen in areas where technically there should be none.

While there's no clear motive stated, its fair to be suspicious of any motive being released by the press. After all, the press usually follows the drum of the rulers. No matter the society.

The more important thing to consider after Abe's passing are:

-How is Japan going to turn out?
Let's face it, many aren't fond of the idea of Japan falling into the clutches of Globohomo with prime entertainment getting destroyed on top of that the people and its culture getting replaced with outsiders proven to cause shit and do nothing of value. 2015 Germany proved that point. Its roughly on-par with women with nice tits getting it cut off in chasing a very retarded fad.

Speaking of 2015, some /pol/lack once pointed out if the migrants that were entering Europe were Japanese, no-one would be complaining.

-Social cohesion. How is Japan going to look within 2-weeks or a month after this? Like Abe or not, the man held influence. And everytime a notable politician dies, something is bound to get crazy.

The 2020s are definitely a crazy time. And it doesn't seem like this crazy train has any brakes!

Think the dude's gonna also seppuku himself before trial like Yamaguchi? The parallels are real eerie, albeit flipped if the shooter's indeed a commie.

Just some crazy shit lately, it's real bizarre to see the news in roughly real-time. Something's coming on the horizon if we're getting Japanese politics this hard (I mean, the assassination of a world leader, former or otherwise, is a huge fucking deal, but it always brings about change).
